Sarah's POV
I smiled at her and look up to meet her gaze. Her eyes were as blue as the sky and the sea. They were glossy, translucent, the most beautiful pair of eyes that I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm so drawn into them that didn't noticed that, I was staring at them longer than I should have. There's something about them that tells you a different story, there's something about staring at them that makes you feel... Sad.
"Sarah, right?" She asked, taking a sip of her coffee while looking at me with a warm smile on her face.
I nodded silently, while looking at the warm brown liquid inside the cup. Nervous, my fingers playfully tap the cup in my hand.
"Jesus, I've never been so nervous in my entire life."
I thought to myself as my eyes trailed from her eyes to her lips. Her cupid-bow lips, they look so soft and delicate. They were tempting and seductive as well, that I couldn't help thinking of what it's like to touch them with my own.
"Get a hold of yourself, Paulson. You're here for a job. A JOB."
"Are you okay? You seem to be a little nervous." She chuckled girlishly as she put the cup down on the table.
"I... I am," I stuttered, earning another chuckle. "I mean, I am a little nervous after all I'm facing my soon to be boss?"
I said cockily but in a joking manner, causing her to giggle a bit, before taking a sip from her cup.
"Nice save, I thought you'd be that nervous type because you look like one. I didn't know that you'd have a little humor. I need that in my life."
Her voice softened a bit as she sighed.
"Anyway, tell me about yourself, Sarah."
I took a deep breath as I muster all of the good things about me to impress this woman, of course the usual employee line of being hardworking and responsible is always there. I also gave her my resume. Flipping through the pages, her eyes lit up.
"I'm impressed." As she said those words, I felt lighter as weight that I was carrying as I entered the cafe was lifted off my shoulders. I really need this job.
"So, tomorrow. I want you to start tomorrow. 8am sharp."
What?
"Ma'am?" I queried. Confirming what I've just heard.
"I said, I want you to start tomorrow. 8am sharp." She repeated, eyes smiling.
"Thank you! Thank you Ma'am! You don't know how much this means to me." I said excitedly to a point that i am suppressing to squeal. I can feel my heart pounding inside my chest, I don't know if its because of excitement or because...
"That's nothing! Besides, I really need someone to help me with managing the stuff around here. I can't do it alone."
"Why won't you manage this business with a business partner or a friend then? I mean that's easier isn't it?"
Her expression changed upon hearing what I've just said. Once lively eyes became empty as she's now wearing a serious expression.
Did I say something wrong? Shit. I haven't even started yet and I'm already screwing up, I'm already giving her a bad impression.
