Chapter 4:

Mia's point of view:

As we approch the house, people were gathering around the front, trying to stay as far away as possible from the house blazed in fire. Fire enginines and ambulance didn't take long to arrive and were everywhere. Firemen were making sure nobody went back in for anything or anyone.

I begin to look for my mum to see whether she's okay and had made it out safely with the others. After a few minutes of searching through the crowd, worry begins to creep up on me, I couldn't find her. I feel arms grab me into a tight hug and hear someone them tearing up emotionally. I turn and see that once again it was my grandma. Thank godness she is safe. She grabs my cheeks and hugs me once again ranting about how she was worried I was still somewhere inside. I wasnt really listening, I was still looking around trying to spot my mum.

"grandma, have you seen mum anywhere?! I cant find her!" I blurted out quite frantkly, almost in tears and full of worry.

"Oh dear, no I havnt seen her, since we were cooking inside, she should have come out when we had gotten out. surely she isn't still in there. Dont worry yourself child. I am sure, she is somewhere around here." My grandma trys to reasure me.

I slowly get out of my grandmas reach, telling her I was going to walk around looking for my mum, and she began doing the same.

I have gotten quite close to the front entrance by now, a few firemen were spread out infront of the house. I stand and look at the house, getting this nagging worrying feeling that my mum is somewere deep inside. a fireman comes out of the house walking by me to the truck. Concidentally I hear him tell his fellow worker, that theres a few people still in there, including a women of middle age, who seemed to be stuck under alot of wood from the roof and would need more firemen to get in there and help him.

"Randy the house is going to go up in flames, we cant go back in there, theres a high chance you wont make it out either. Gas bottles had dripped and this means theres a high chance the house is going to errupt in flames and will cause serious injuries and death if you are caught inside. I wouldn't be suprised if she was already dead by the time we get to her anyways"

Do you believe in following your gut instincts? At the moment I did and I felt it deep down in my heart, that the woman they were talking about was my mum. My heart began to beat, My pulse quickning. I knew in that moment I had to find her. I had to protect my mum. So I bolted.

I ran so fast, that the firemen didn't see me, till I was at the door. Were I heard the faint sound of my name being yelled, calling for my attention, telling me to get back. But I wasnt going back, I knew I had to save my mum, even if it cost me my life. I had never experienced an andreline rush before, but right now my heart beat a million times a second, pushing me to move foward and I knew that that was what it felt like.

"MUM where are you?" I yell, praying to god she hears me. "MUMMMMMMMM" I begin to yell frantkly. tears running down my face. "where are you mum?!? answer me please!" I look around in search for the person that had taught me everything I know. The person who gave up everything in life just to make mine perfect. It was so dark and smoky in the air, I could hardly see a thing. The smoke was getting to my lungs and I begin coughing and struggling to breath. But nevertheless I continue yelling my mum's name in the chance that she hears and responds.
