CHAPTER 3-

Walking into the house, I didn't realise how many people are actually occupying the house at that moment. Looking around, I even see plenty of unfamiliar faces. Wondering who they are, I suddenly feel two arms grab me, engulfing me in a very squishy hug, I panic for a moment, till a particular perfume hits my nose I relise it is just my grandma and calm down.

My grandma is a lovely lady, she is the only grandparent left in my family. My mum's parents had died when I was younger, and years later at the age of 8 years old, my dad's dad had left this world too. Leaving my poor grandma to fend for herself and learn to live on her own. Sadly she lives quite a fair bit away from us, so we hardly get to see her. So this was a fantastic surprise. Almost worth the boredom I am to endure today.

----------------------------------------------

Were up to the drinks stage, and no not the alcohol kind of drinks, more like tea and coffee "Hot beverages." You see there are different stages, to this gathering. First there are the icky kisses, and squishy hugs, then come the meet an

d greet. After that, cold drinks are given out, coke, water, fizzy drinks etc. After that is when the snacks appear, chips, nuts, crackers, biscuits and nibbles, you name it, it will most likely be there. After the snacks, is the hot beverage that is happening as we speak. Sadly this is the most boring stage there is, everyone is sitting and chatting to the person next to them, while sipping on there hot drinks. The next stage is cooking the lunch stage, where all the females create the food, and cook and organize themselves in the kitchen.

But today we're having a BBQ for lunch so it's a bit different; everyone will head to the backyard at the back of the house near the kitchen soon. After all the food is done and cooked, we will gather around with plates and help ourselves to what we like. This is followed by more chatting, and endless drinks and hot beverages, till whenever people get bored and decide to leave, which believe me takes forever. Through the day and night snacks and nibbles will continue to be refilled to keep everyone occupied.

Suddenly I feel two intense eyes staring at me. Feeling self conscious, I try to find the source of this feeling. Looking around and finding nothing. Maybe I am just being paranoid, i think to myself. When at last I find these mysterious eyes. Looking at them, I lost my breath. They were a gorgeous deep blue colour, belonging to a tall handsome guy, with the body of an athlete. Looking him straight in the eye, he is caught by surprise that I had noticed him, he silently chuckles, a half smile appearing on his flawless face, and he turns away.

I am sure I know those eyes from somewhere? Could it be him? My long lost childhood friend? Years when swings, playgrounds and dolls were my only entertainment. Doubting myself and my memory, I remember him moving far away, being a child, i don’t remember where he went, I had just known, he had gone, and we wouldn’t see him for a while. As time passed, life moved on and I forgot about him and made heaps of new friends. Although now, those deep blue eyes bring back a year of friendship I had completely forgotten.

Fazing out of my daydream and memories, I turn back to the spot he was standing on and nothing. He's gone. Could I possibly have imagined all of this? My memory conjuring up the past, making me see things. Looking around again, I see the hot sun shining brightly in the clear blue sky through the window, so I decide to get some fresh air, finally away from these crowded people.
