MY HYBRID LOVER

The Harsh Winter

It was getting colder and I was kind of relieved.. It meant the humans were going home. The pack and I didn't have to worry so much about them anymore .
Alex and I woke up and packed our things to head to this cabin where the pack stayed for the long winters so no one got cold.
On winters in this area, the winds get high and it snows. Alex and I and the others packed their things, helping the wolves get food for their pups.
The wolves had their own cave to where they could stay warm and could rest.
The pack headed out to the cabin, which was only a few miles past the mountains. Alex was better at walking in the snow as his wolf as I was better on my human feet. I had army boots on so it was easy to walk. The alpha had given me a red hooded sweatshirt so they could see Alex and I easily if we ever got lost. Where did he get? I didn't know and didn't care.. It was warm.

It took about a few hours to get to the cabin, but when we all got inside, the wolves, even Alex, shook their fur off of the light snow. I laughed when Alex got snow on me. "Hey!" we both laughed . I looked around and raised a brow, walking to the fireplace. "I'll put wood in.." the alpha walked over and put a hand on my shoulder. "No need my boy.." he walked over and turned on the gas switch on the end of the stone wall. I smiled. "And you thought I was old styled.." He laughed and I nodded. "Anyone can sleep anywhere.. There are two cabins if you need more room." He said and I looked at Alex. "I want to stay here.. I'm tired." Alex said and I walked over as he turned back into his human self. "It's cold and the other cabin is a bit away from this one." I smiled and hugged him close. "We'll stay here then.." Alex smiled and pulled himself into me, making me blush a bit. "Hey Adam.." I looked at at his eyes and smiled. "Yeah Alex?" I asked.
"I love you.." He stated and I smiled.
"I love you too.."

It had taken a few people and wolves to get situated into the cabins. there was food, water and blankets to where everyone could be comfortable.
Some of the wolves were allowed to stay in with us as they had pups who were still newborn.
I volunteered to help out, feeding the pups and to care for them when the parents went out to get food.
Alex was the playful wolf who let the pups crawl all over. It was kind of cute how his ear would be tugged by a pup and his tail would flop around happy..
"The pups will stay here.." The alpha said again. Alex and I both nodded, smiling as I joined him as wolf so I could see how rough a pup really was..

The winds were were picking up and it wasn't going to be easy at first.. I had that gut feeling that something was going to happen and it wasn't going to be pretty. It was late and everyone had gone to bed. I didn't want to sleep because I had that weird feeling that during storms like this, those nightmares would come back..

The nightmares had three things in it... My old man, death and war.
I was to be alpha if Shadow was killed or was so sick he would die..
Was I truly ready to become alpha with Alex? I wanted to be with Alex, but alpha? It's only been a year, I need to be taught of what to do and who to talk to.. Who are our allies?
I rubbed my head, overthinking things and sighed, looking outside as I sat in front of the fire. It was warm. I felt Alex nuzzle his way into my arm and onto my lap. "You need to sleep.. We're heading out for a bit tomorrow to head to town.. There's a store and my human mother m owns it. We get free food there.. Human food. The wolves do their own hunting." I smiled and rubbed behind Alex's ear. "Those nightmares.."
"Those nightmares are memories Adam.. They won't hurt you. They're fears of what of you've seen." He stated.
Alex was right, they couldn't harm me.
I sighed and nodded. "No, you're right.. It's late anyways and we both need sleep." he nodded and licked my cheek, making me giggle softly, running my cheek off. He got off my lap and had me lay on the couch so he could lay in front of me as he turned back into himself once again. I grabbed a few wool blankets and laid there. He slipped off his boots and slid in front of me, getting close so he could feel my arms as I wrapped one around him and pulled him close. He blushed as he looked back at me. "Your arms are so big and warm.." I chuckled. "Get some sleep silly." We kissed each other and closed our eyes for the night.

The storm went on all night and surprisingly, I was calm. No nightmares.. I was safe.
I did have a dream though, of my old man.
It was when we first started this adventure. He told me "No matter what happens to us on this vacation, when you and I part in any way possible.. Don't give up hope. We will find each other again."
A tear went down my face as that came to my mind. I was quiet about it, but Alex saw the tear and wiped it off my face. "Adam.." I woke up and smiled. "Sorry.. Did I wake you?" He shook his head. "What's on your mind? You were tearing." I shook my head and smiled, wiping my face off. "Out of all this coming together, it started off with my old man.. I'm grateful for what I have now, but.." Alex sighed and bit his lip. "Tomorrow night is the full moon ceremony.. This is when you can see your father with the other spirits.. This is why we came here." I smiled and nodded, kissing him deeply. He blushed and kissed back just as deeply.
"Thank you.. For loving me." I said smiling with a blush on my face and he giggled, wiping a next year that came down my face. "Your welcome.. But thank you for finding me"
