MY HYBRID LOVER

THE HUNT

It was that time to  go hunting again before the hard rains came as it was already Autumn. Alex and I were out with a few others of the half breeds, which meant they were like me, half man, half wolf.
Lucai was the first to volunteer to join us because he knew he was stronger as a wolf hunter than a human.
A few others who were wolves went off to do their own hunting as we being the lighter breed went to hunt for the easy thing like elk and deer.
One of the half breeds followed.. It was Alex's sister, Maria.
Maria was a white wolf, taken in by Shadow at the same time as he found Alex.
Maria wasn't wanting a mate as she had that secret that not even I knew..
So we continued through the same hunting grounds, killing and collecting what we had when we heard that same gunshot like before..
"Shit.." I mumbled and looked around for Alex. "Alex!" I ran up ahead and Alex stopped me. "Be quiet.."
He looked up ahead and sniffed the air. "They're still here.." He said and I looked up. "Leave them be.." These men were harmless unless they were hunting for wolf coat, which I honestly doubted.
I nudged Alex and he wouldn't move, he just glared. "Alex.. Let's go get our stuff and head back." Alex growled and moves his paws along the dirt. " Alex!" I yelled and pushed him away from the men before they saw him and walked him away from the area.
"I know what I'm doing.." He stated and I pushed him harder. "Getting yourself killed is what you're doing.. Are you really wanting to leave me that bad?" Alex turned his head toward me and shook his head. "N-nothing like that.. You see, these are the same men that killed my last mate.." I sighed and nuzzled into Alex's fur. "I know it's hard, but if you want to be my mate now.. Please Alex, don't risk your life for the past.. I'm here now."
All Alex could do was smile. I loved Alex more than I have anyone in my human life. I'm a half blood, meaning I still have human like feelings. I have sword to the alpha that I would protect Alex because he is the youngest son of this whole pack. "Alex.. I'm in love with you. I don't know your past with your last mate, and I'm sorry for your loss.. But look at us now.. We're together and I don't want you getting hurt by anyone, especially a gun shot by humans.."
Alex looked down and smiled, nodding. "I'm sorry.. I was being selfish. I really do love you Adam and I'm glad you chose me to be your mate.."
I smiled and sighed, looking up at him. "You saved my life.. Don't let me down and make me save yours because of the past.." I said and Alex nodded smiling. "That's a sworn promise."
