Today was the first day of filming. I sat in the trailer and waited for the makeup artist. I guess that's what they're called. But I was really excited about today. I was already in costume. I was wearing a red plaid button up shirt and dark jeans with black converse sneakers and a grey hat. Chris was in costume as well. A grey button up shirt and jeans with brown boots. Once my makeup was finished I exited the trailer and saw Scarlett and Jeremy. Jeremy was wearing a grey shirt and a black leather jacket with jeans. Scarlett wore a brown sweater and dark jeans with red converse sneakers. Chris stood there under the tent and I joined the group. I couldn't help but smile. I went over the script again and the first scene was a conversation between Scarlett and me. We got to the set. The set looked like a kitchen. There was a dog sitting on a dog bed. That must be Cooper. I walked over and scratched him behind his ears. He would be my best friend in the film. We got ready for the scene. Chris had a fake tattoo on his left arm. They do a good job with makeup.
"ACTION!" The director said.
Dylan and Taylor carried the groceries inside and Dylan laid them on the kitchen table. "Thank you Dylan. That was really nice of you to help" Taylor said sitting her bags on the counter. Cooper ran towards Dylan and she bent down to pet her companion.
"Yeah well, I like helping" Dylan said.
"Can you take Cooper on a walk?" Taylor asked smiling.
"Sure thing" Dylan said getting her dogs leash, "I'll be back." Dylan and Cooper leave the house just as Brian comes out from the dinning room.
"I was waiting for her to leave" Brian said smiling.
"What do you want?" Taylor asked.
"My money" Brian said.
"Just give me 2 more weeks and I'll-" Taylor started but a gun was held to her head.
"I gave you 3 months. You know the deal" Brain said as he grabbed her arm the two walked back outside making sure Dylan was gone. Brian put Taylor in the car and then he got in.
"Where are we going?" Taylor asked.
"You'll see" Brian said as he pulled out of the driveway.
"CUT!" The director said as I walked back from behind the set with the dog trailing behind me.
"That was great!" The director said as we got ready for my scene where Dylan comes home to find that her mom was gone.
"Mom!" Dylan called as she entered the house and took off Cooper's leash. The dog sniffs around the house, "mom?!" Dylan looks around the house seeing that her mother is no where to be seen. Dylan picks up the note that was one the table.
Dear Dylan,
You have one week to save your mom. I need $10,000. Your mom failed to give me the money so let's just say if you don't get here on time your mom dies.
                                                        From,
                                                                Brian.
"Mom?! This joke isn't funny!" Dylan said but no one answered. Cooper came back and nudged Dylan. She knew her mom was gone. Dylan felt tears in her eyes realizing her mom was in trouble.
"Oh no" Dylan said sliding down to the floor with her back against the wall. She needed to do something. And quick. She went up stairs and took $500 from her savings. It wasn't enough. She searched through her room and was able to find $20. $520 wasn't enough. She needed a lot more. She walked to her moms room and found a brief case with $5,000. $5,520 still wasn't enough. She needed $4,480 more. How was she going to get the money. She could save her mom if she had enough. She searched through the house finding $400 by finding a lot of $20 dollar bills. She searched through her moms wallet and found $200. $3,880 to go.
"Come on Cooper. We're going to save mom" Dylan said scratching her dog behind his ears.
"CUT!"
"That was great Aubrey!" said Jeremy.
"Yay!" I said excitedly.
"Okay we are going to do a few more scenes today so get into a costume change and then we are gonna do about 3 or 2 scenes then we'll wrap it up for today" the director said. We went to costume change and I changed into a army green jacket with a white shirt and dark jeans with red converse sneakers. They redid my makeup and I exited the trailer. The next scene was at a gas station. Chris was ready for this scene since this is where he appears. We went over the script a little bit so we were ready.
Dylan and Cooper walked towards the gas station to get some snacks for the road. Jack Carson is sitting in his car watching the teenager go into the store. Jack gets out of his car and tosses his cigarette to the side and steps on it. When Dylan comes out of the store she bumps into Jack causing her to drop the bag.
"I'm so sorry" Jack said bending down to help the kid.
"Sorry sir it was my fault" Dylan said.
"It's fine" Jack said picking up the bag.
"Thank you sir" Dylan said as Cooper began to growl at Jack.
"Hey didn't see the mutt" Jack said.
"He isn't a mutt" Dylan said.
"What's his name?" Jack asked.
"Cooper" Dylan answered.
"I'm Jack Carson" Jack introduced himself.
"Dylan Riley" Dylan said trying to smile.
"Do you want a ride? It would be a shame for a kid like you to get hurt out here" Jack said.
"Does it cost money?" Dylan asked.
"Nope" Jack said.
"What could it hurt?" Dylan said as the three of them walked to Jack's car. Cooper climbed in the back and Dylan climbed in the front with Jack.
"So why are you out here by yourself?" Jack asked.
"I'm trying to find my mom" Dylan said not wanting to explain.
"Let me guess she's in trouble?" Jack asked.
"How did you know?" Dylan asked.
"Count me in. I'm gonna help you. Partners?" Jack asked reaching to shake her hand.
"Partners" Dylan said shaking his hand. Jack started the car.
"So where do you think she might be?" Jack asked.
"Do you know Brian Wilson?" Dylan asked.
"I don't think I do but the name sounds familiar" Jack said as they pulled out of the gas station.
"Well I think we need to find his work place. He works at the docks" Dylan said.
"You mean the docks in San Francisco?" Jack asked.
"Yes sir" Dylan answered.
"Well let's get going" Jack said smiling to his partner. What Dylan didn't know was that Jack was paid to kill her.
"CUT!" The director said and we both broke out laughing.
"Well done Bro" I said.
"Well done little sis" Chris said smiling. We climbed out of the fake car. The sun was going down so the director decided to use it as an advantage for the last scene of the day. We got ready for the next scene and studied the script.
Jack and Dylan continued to drive down the road.
"I have to go to the bathroom" Dylan said.
"Alright" Jack said pulling into a gas station. Dylan got out and walked to the bathroom. Jack's phone went off and he took it out.
Is the job done? ~Brian
Cooper growled at Jack.
"Shut up mutt" Jack hissed as he typed his response.
Nope. Not yet. But I have her with me. If you want I'll finish the job tonight~ Jack
Not yet. Wait until you gain her trust. When you're almost here to the docks go to a motel and that's when you do your job~ Brian
Understood. Remember $1,000,000~ Jack.
Of course~ Brian
Jack put his phone away just as Dylan came back.
"Everything good?" Jack asked.
"Yes sir" Dylan said.
"Please call me Jack" He said as she closed her door and the two drove off.
After finishing filming for today me and Chris went home for the night. I was really excited about tomorrow. Today was just the first day of filming. We tried not to mess up but tomorrow will be the day of bloopers. It'll be fun.
