Runaways: Day 5/6.

* * *

When they arrived at the next town, it had seemed that Stiles had already organised accommodation for the both of them for the night.

He pulled up to a decent looking hotel, parking the car and hopping out. (Y/n) lingered in her seat for a brief moment, watching as the brunet headed toward reception.

Realization suddenly settled in, making her remember what they were really here to do. They weren't just stopping by for the night, only to disappear down the road the next morning. Stiles was planning to leave much more of a mark than that.

A sudden tap to her window made her jump, head flicking to the left to see Stiles standing there, an eyebrow cocked as he stared at her.

"Coming?" He asked from behind the glass, and she nodded quickly while pushing the car door open once Stiles had gotten out of the way.

The hotel room wasn't anything fancy. It was a simple room with cream walls, a double bed sitting against one of the walls. A makeshift wardrobe sat across from the bed, as well as a desk sitting beside it.

Stiles shuffled into the room, toeing off his shoes by the end of the bed then placing his duffle bag into the bed.

(Y/n) lingered around the door way, suddenly feeling a wave of awkwardness rush over her and she couldn't do much other than simply stare at her shoes. Her mind raced with all types of questions, statements she wished to speak aloud, but only one she could bare to utter.

"When are you..." Her words trailed off, unknowing how to ask her question. "When are you going to... you know..."

"Going to kill?" He finished her sentence, turning around and making eye contact with her just as she nodded gently. "You know you can say it, my love. It's not a bad word. But tonight, I think. Or maybe even early tomorrow morning. We can't be sticking around for too long afterwards. Its too risky."

"Do I... Do I have to watch this time?"

Stiles moved across the room, stopping in front of her and bringing a hand up to rest on her cheek. He let his thumb rub itself comfortingly against the smooth skin there, shaking his head gently, "Of course not, love. Not if you don't want to."

Just with those words, she felt as though a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She wouldn't have been able to live with herself if she had to watch another innocent girl being killed by someone she cared too deeply for.

"But we wont worry about that right now, okay?" His hand moved down to cup her jaw, tilting her head up so she had no other choice but to lock eyes with him. "For now, how about we do something more fun?"

"Like what?" She questioned, and Stiles was quick to close the space between them, slotting their lips together while moving her across the room by a hand to her back.

With their lips still locked together, they collapsed onto the bed and before they knew it they were lost in the never ending sea of the hotel bed sheets and each others bodies.

  ☩

The thought struck her early the next morning.

It was barely seven in the morning when she woke, and she noticed that Stiles was no where to be seen, again. She knew what he had probably run off to do, but she didn't think about it for too long. Instead, she couldn't help but smile at the thought of last nights antics; it had been all soft touches and lingering glances and breathless kisses, but it soon disappeared when she'd realized that they hadn't used protection.

A sickly feeling settled in the pit of her stomach, swallowing hard as she sat up in bed.

She knew there was a pharmacy in town, not too far from the hotel, so she was quick to hop out of bed, throwing on the first items of clothing she could find and slipping on her shoes.

She walked over to the desk, grabbing the pen and pad of paper they supplied.

'Woke up with a bad headache. Gone to find a pharmacy for pain killers'

She left the note at the end of the bed for Stiles to find if he happened to return before she did. She fished out some cash that she'd grabbed before she left home, and headed out.

  -

Once she entered the pharmacy, her eyes lingered on the Morning After pills sitting on the shelf behind the counter.

They were what she came for. But now that she'd seen them, they didn't look as appealing anymore. Instead, she found herself wandering around the store, settling in front of a shelf of pregnancy tests.

She knew she wouldn't be able to use one until her period was due, and it would be difficult trying to hide the box from Stiles, but she had no other choice.

She needed to know.

If there was even a sliver of a chance that she might have Stiles' baby, she was going to take it. If she is to loose Stiles one day, this baby might be her way of keeping him in her life.

She swiped the most affordable box from the shelf, and with a shaky breath she made her way to the checkout and placed the box on the counter for the cashier to ring up.

"Would you like a carry bag?" She asked, and (Y/n) shook her head no without really thinking about it. The cashier handed her her change, then slid the box of tests toward her.

"Thank you." (Y/n) smiled, picking up the box and making a quick exit of the store.

The box felt heavy in her grip, a weight of fear and vulnerability sitting against the palm of her hand. The tests rattled among themselves against the cardboard, the sound piercing her ears and sending a shiver down her spine.

Once she made it back to the hotel, she found herself holding her breath as she approached hers and Stiles' room. She carefully opened the hotel room door open, wearily stepping inside. She quickly caught sight of Stiles sitting at the desk, his head snapping to look at her and she mentally scolded herself for not asking for a carry bag to hide the pregnancy test box in.

She quickly hid the box behind her back, but to no avail, Stiles had already seen it.

"What's that?" He questioned, stepping away from the desk to the middle of the small room while cocking an eyebrow at her. "That didn't look like a box of pain killers to me."

Her heart sunk, hands beginning to shake. She pressed herself against the now closed door, wedging the box between her back and the door.

Stiles took a step toward her, "Tell me what it is, (Y/n)."

(Y/n). He hadn't called her that in so long. It was always my love, or some other pet name that made her blush. Hearing him call her by her actual name was enough to make her bow her head while she pulled the box out from behind her back.

She held it out for Stiles to see it, immediately feeling him swipe it from her grip.

It was all silent for a moment, the only thing she could hear was the pounding of her own heart in her ears, until Stiles let out a whisper.

"Oh my god."
