Everything was a confused jumble of thoughts after the realisation hit me, and I ended up falling unconscious eventually which I guess what a blessing considering how uncomfortable it would’ve been on the floor. As I came back to reality, I felt different. I wasn’t sure if it was good different, or bad different. Just, different.

There was distant beeping and constant shuffling, which annoyed me to no end, especially since I had no idea what was going on around me. My hearing failed to pick up on anything else, although I felt that I was no longer on the ground face down. Did that mean someone had come and rescued me? Had Hidan come back, or had someone broken into my home and abducted me while I was unconscious.

“Will she be okay?”

“Yes, the medicine should be here within the next few hours.” The voices were distorted, and I couldn’t place either tone as either male or female. Was I in the Akatsuki headquarters again?

I tried to open my eyes, but nothing happened. So instead, I attempted to wiggle a finger. When that also failed, I felt my heart rate quicken. Was I dead? No, that couldn’t be possible- at least, I don’t feel dead. I’m sure, if I was dead, nobody would bother with medicine.

The distant beeping increased in pace, and the two voices stopped their conversing. Momentarily, I wondered if they’d left me alone, but soon I heard them again. All I wanted was some peace and quiet, because I soon realised that my head was pounding.

“What’s happening? Is she awake?”

“Daze, get back! Give us some room!” Daze, she was here? And there were more than two people? I figured the others were the ones who were shuffling around earlier, but I still had no idea what the beeping was.

“Flashlight!” Without warning, someone pulled my eyelid open, and I was met with a male nurse- who was rather good looking for the record. But I was soon blinded as he held a small flashlight above my head, moving it different directions. “Courage, my name is Doctor Shou Osamu.”

‘I’ve heard of you.’ Shou was rather wealthy, with connections to many powerful families due to his high reputation as a doctor.

I would have to sell him out.

As much as it pained me, I had to, solely because I could never write anything about Daze, and I had nobody else to use. Oh, that sounded absolutely horrible, although it was accurate. ‘I’ve forgotten how late I am with my report; this isn’t good.’ The thought made my heart rate increase further, and I was surprised I hadn’t gone into cardiac arrest yet.

“Calm down, I’m here to help. Can you follow the light with your eyes?” I tried, I really did, but however much I strained, my body just wouldn’t respond. I felt myself drifting off again, simply from the stress and confusion about my situation. I had no idea who was shuffling around Shou, I had no idea where I was; I had no idea if I would ever get better, and most importantly- I had no idea where Hidan was. Shouldn’t he be here with me? I got rid of that thought instantly, remembering that we were only friends, if we could even be called that.

“Courage, stay with me! Focus on my voice!”

‘Then again, it’s been a fair few months. Maybe I should start putting the moves on him. Oh lord, no. That’d probably make him stab me in the stomach, and then step on my shoes! That’d ruin my day, and I wouldn’t be very happy.’ I thought, in a sort of daze. I no longer had record of who was speaking, so everything was just a jumbled mess around me, as it had been when I’d first came to.

“What’s happening? Why are those machines beeping so much?”

“Please, take mistress Watanabe out of the room.”
