Chapter two: Just another day at school

Alec’s P.O.V.

Eveleen slept in my room last night, like she so often does. She got used to it when she just came to live with me. I didn’t mind though. I loved having my little sister with me. I woke up early and went downstairs to make us breakfast, since is was Wednesday it meaned chocolate chip pancakes, according to Eveleens food planner. I  had just started with the batter when I heard the shower upstairs. Eveleen was awake. I quickly finished making breakfast and as on que eveleen walked in just as I set her plate down on the table. She sat down and wolved her food down her throat as I got her oj and vitamins.

“Are you ready for school?” I asked her.

“Yes, are you?” She asked.

“Yes I am, jake is in my class you know.” I told her.

“Yes he told me, he also said you weren’t very friendly during class, maybe you should be.”

“I know but most of them don’t listen.” I told her.

“Maybe you should try.” She said.

I looked at her as she ate, she always ate fast, like someone was going to grab her food away, there was a time when that probably did happen. And like that I got lost in thought.

~~Flash Back, 4 years ago~~

I was a young college student of  only 17 years old. I was studying history, I had always wanted to become a history teacher. I loved being here but I loved being at home even more. I adored my little sister who was only 14 at that time. She was really cute and was always running along with me. every day she would call or mail and she even wrote me letters. She was always talking about school and her friends and how much she missed me. but after a while didn’t write anymore and sent only a few e-mails and stopped calling. After a week with only one e-mail that was so short it was more like a text. I got worried. I told my roommate what was going on and he said she was just getting a live and didn’t have time to keep writing me. and I believed him for a while. Until I received an e-mail that said:

Alec,

Please come.

Nothing else. I didn’t hesitate, my sister wouldn’t ask me to come unless it were serious. I told my roommate I was going home for a while and that I was taking the week off. I jumped into my car and drove through the night to get there as soon as possible. I parked my car and ran inside. I ran upstairs to my sisters room and I heard her scream. I tried to open the door but it was locked. I kicked it open and there she was. My baby sister, my father on top of her.

I ran over there and knocked him of off her. I punched him in the face breaking his nose. My father tried to say it wasn’t what I thought but my half exposed sister told me otherwise. I hit my father again knocking him unconsious. I went over to the bed and eveleen wrapped her arms around me and refused to let go. I put one arm around her behind so that she was sitting on It like a toddler. I grabbed everything I thought she’d need and we left.

I put her in my car and we drove to my college. She clung on to me the entire way. When we arrived my roommate was shocked to see her frightened and clinging onto me like her life depened on it. I put her stuff in my room and lied her down on my bed. The rest of the week we stayed like that. she was always clinging onto me and slept next to me.

my girlfriend broke up with me because she thought Eveleen was overreacting. I didn’t care. My roommate however was very kind. He helped me by bringing us food and he talked to her in a soft sweet tone so she wouldn’t fear him. after a while she stopped fearing him and talked to him. they became great friends.
