I love feed back and any help that is nice to help improve on my writing would be great. So please vote and leave comments. Oh I love dark stories and poems, also some action and all around odd stories, so if you want me to check out your stories leave a message on my profile and ill check them out. Oh and this is just a random beginning that i started with and may or may not stay the beginning of this book. That's all for now! Please enjoy The Hunter: Meeting Austin Madox.

Austin Madox. "Chapter 1"

Once I set my mind to something I always follow through with it, up until I met my match. This damn pickle jar seems to be fake! How can it not open after an hour! Finally I set it down after on my ceramic counter top and bent down to eye level studying the contents on the inside, how dare they stay so close but all so far away.

Another minute of studying the jar a hand reaches out and pops open the lid and sets it back down in front of me.

"Are you sure Madox that you will be okay by yourself for the next two weeks".

My old friend and roommate Jessie Wilson said as he set the lid down.

"I'm quite positive as an adult I am fully capable of taking care of myself Jessie." I answered back while I took a bite of pickle before I spit it out in the trash can, they were sour!

"Hmmm, yes I know, but, you have a bad habit of getting in trouble."

Jessie retorted back as he took a bite of pickle. I glared at him as I drank my water. His hazel eyes sparkled as he reminded me of the time I was arrested for breaking and entering into a funeral home. (We will save that for another story.)

Jessie was an intelligent young man in his early twenties. He had short brown hair that never laid flat no matter how many times it was brushed. Standing about 6ft with well toned muscles that made girls turn their head. Even at his young age he was a very successful genetic engineer, helping to find many cures.

"That was an unfortunate mis-understanding, I was doing research." I said in an impatient voice. Trying to hide his smile he puts the lid back on the jar.

"Well try not to do anymore "research" again, alright?"

I watched him place the jar in the fridge before I answered.

"You know how my mind works Jessie." Sitting down in one of our mis-matched kitchen chairs, I lay my head down and close my eyes, stupid pickles.

"How did you open that jar?" I asked shooting back up in the sitting position.

"I thought we were talking about your mind." He reminded me as he sat next to me.

"But I want to know! I tired everything."

Shaking his head, he pulls out a rubber jar opener.

"In all your intelligence you forget some of the simplest things ever."

"Where did you get this?" I ask looking at it.

"Any store that sells kitchen appliances." He answered rolling his eyes.

"So how long were you dead?"

'Two years" answering his rhetorical question, of course he knew I told him before.

"Are you sure it wasn't longer?"

"You know what sounds good to eat?" I ask jumping up to the cabinet completely missing his question.

"I don't know Madox I guess you are going to tell me." He said with a sigh, then my cell phone rang, playing nightmare by Avenged Seven Fold. Running over I picked it up without looking at it and instantly regretted it.

"Austin!" Yelled Annalise in my ear "how dare you leave me standing out in the rain for hours! What kind of friend does that? I had to get a damn taxi driver to take me home! Do you even care how-"

As she continuous to scream in my ear I sign, silently praying that it would be over soon. I sat back down on the chair that I just left next to a chucking Jessie, but with a quick slap on the back of his head he stops and just glares at me. I lean back and place my feet on the table and then set to watching my friend out of the corner of my eye.

After 2 minutes of being yelled at I finally have to cut her off. "Annalise! For what motive do you have to yell at me for about 2 minutes and not stop!" I say trying to keep my cool. (Stupid women)

"And for the record we aren't even friends, the only reason we talk is because of Jessie so no I do not care how much it cost you to get a taxi and if you are that damn worried about money then you should have called Jessie!" Pressing end on my phone quite forcefully I stand up and start pacing.

" You didn't have to be so mean to her." Jessie tells me softy as he follows me with his eyes.

"She has no right!" I say carefully trying to hold back my anger.

"But you left her in the rain, honestly she has a right."

"Oh be silent!" The words are out of my mouth before I even realized what I was saying.

Stopping suddenly I stare off in the distance letting my mind race. What was that noise? "Jessie?" I ask, letting my anger be forgotten at the moment.

"It's fine I'm not mad, I think it is kinda of humorous."

I ignore that comment as I run into the living/dinning room that has a staircase right in front of the main entrance. Looking at my bookshelf I quickly grab one of my books that hides my knife right before I hear footsteps right outside our little townhouse. "Madox what are you do-" the doorbell rung.

Jessie looks at me then to the hunter knife in my left hand and says "I'm guessing it is not the pizza delivery boy?"

I shake my head no before I open the door slowly. Jessie is standing behind me tense and ready for a fight when the door swings open revealing nothing. Looking around Jessie steps pass me to the bottom of the stairs on to the side walk and looks up to the house. "What was that all about?" He asks looking up at my confused face. "I don't know Jessie," I say in a whisper, "but what I do know is that you should get ready to leave your ride will be here within the hour"
