Chapter 4 "The Home"

I wake up a few hours later on a soft surface, a couch maybe? Keeping my eyes closed I try to listen to what is around me, when I heard a faint whistle that quickly gets cut off. Finally daring myself to open my eyes I slowly sit up to study the room. It's a small living room with a small flat screen tv that the couch is sitting in front of. Many book shelfs filled with strange and interesting books lined the walls and a little desk sat in the corner with a lot lose leaf paper on it. On these papers there was a lot of strange drawings of creatures and monsters that was also tacked into the wall above a fireplace. Some of them had red circles or x's on them, and the wall seemed to have fell victim to his drawings as well since there were paintings of these creatures on them. Well.......this person has some imagination. In front of the fireplace sat two chairs that didn't match and a small coffee table in the middle. Then I let my gaze wonder to these two archers that lead to two different rooms, I couldn't see into the other one very well but I could tell it was a kitchen plus there was a faint sound of metal being placed on glass, dishes? Looking over at the other arch I see clearly there is a stair case and a little hall way. Getting up, I walked over to see if the exit was this way so I could leave before my host came back when a deep male voice startles me. "Leaving so soon Dr. Wilson?"

Turning around I see the stranger from the green house. He looks a lot younger then I thought, maybe in his early twenties. The only imperfection I can see on his face is a deep scar over his right blue eye. I wonder how he got that, then I realize that I was knocked unconscious by that....that thing at the green house and so I start yelling questions.

"Where am I? Why am I here? Who are you? And what the hell happened back there!?"

He smiles and gestures with his head to the deep blue plush chair in front of the fireplace, then walks over and sits into a dark green leather one just opposite of the blue. He sets down the tray he was holding that has a tea pot and cups on it onto the rickety coffee table in between the two chairs. Thinking I should trust him I walk over and sit down.

"Are you going to answer me?" I ask impatiently watching him pour out a cup of tea then handing it to me, I take it and wait.

"What did you see back there?" He asks completely ignoring all of my questions. God that is going to piss me off! Pushing past my aggravation I think of how I should answer that question. I did see something strange but this guy would think me to be crazy if I told him the truth so I decide to lie.

"Nothing....nothing other then an explosion."

Nodding at my answer he pours out a cup for him and takes and drink then just stares into it.

"Good you didn't need to see any of that."

He remains silent and it starts to make me wonder if I should leave, but like an idiot I stay, it's not everyday that an explosion happens at your work.

"What shouldn't I see?" I ask not expecting him to answer.

"The angels," he says surprising me, "they are a little cranky right now." He finishes in a soft tone.

I close my eyes and open them slowly, trying to find out if this guy was being serious or not.

"But what I don't understand," he continued into his cup like I wasn't even there, "is why send me there for that angel, she wasn't doing anything and only attacked because I was there. So why?" He sets down his cup and rubs his eyes, "it doesn't make any sense, stupid angels."

Listening to him talk to himself should pull up a red flag but since I am stupid and I want answers, I decide stay, so I try to make sense of his ramblings.
