After about 30 minutes we end up in front of this old looking warehouse.
"Where are we?" I ask slowly getting out of the car.
"One of the entrances to Hell that aren't suppose to be here." Madox answers as he walks up slowly to the gate that is rusted and hanging off is hinges. "Angels are trying to get it closed, so we are waiting," he turns and smiles at my confused and scared face, "because I don't really want to go help."
"Wha?..." I start to say but stopped and just shook my head, this guy is full of surprises and this entrance to Hell was one of the surprises I could have gone without knowing about.
After about an hour Madox walks through the gates with his sword ready just in case and walks inside with me in tow. Lets just say the inside is worst then the outside, just like a war zone, blood smeared all over even on the ceilings, bodies of what looked like to be angels and demons laid scattered everywhere. The few surviving were cleaning up and closing this strange looking moving red hole in the middle of the main room that we walked in. "Umm.. The fight?" I guessed looking around.
"Yeah," He answers with a smile, "looks bad huh?"
Well he just went back to lunatic now, great just great... I was beginning to like him.
"Aubery!" Madox shouts randomly scaring me and a few other angels that took off running when they saw who yelled.
"Umm... Why did they run?" I asked but was completely ignored as Madox shouted again.
"Awww did the Hunter come to pout cuz he missed a good fight?" Came a male voice from the ceiling. A young dark haired male that looked about 16 with large beautiful white wings fell down landing easily on his feet. He ran up to Madox and hugged him.
"You know Aubery I don't pout ever." Madox says with a smile as he returns the hug.
I am confused by this point but I make no movement or even attempt to ask any questions hoping that they will be answered later.
"I find that hard to believe old friend." Aubery says with laughter in his voice, "Anywhos lets go in a more private and..." Aubery looks around and wrinkles his nose in disgust, "cleaner spot to talk."
Aubery turns around and leads us to a door at the end of the hall way that he walks into, the room takes me by surprise and I just stop and stare for a couple of seconds. The room is like a different place! Its clean for one and well furnished with fur rugs and expensive furniture as well as a fireplace, a fireplace! '"Wha-?..."
"As an angel we have special powers." Aubery chuckles, "this room isn't even apart of the warehouse."
I close my eyes and take a deep breath, all of this is going to kill me, I just know it. So I just find a comfy chair in front of this desk and sit down, I am not going to even comment.
"So Madox what brings me to my humble home?" Aubery asks as he walks over behind the desk and sits down. "Oh and who's the live one?" He asks looking at me curiously.
Madox rolls his eyes and sits next to me in the other chair in front of the desk and sighs, "His name is Dr. Jessie Wilson and he is a Genetic Engineer and for some reason there are some angels after him and I would like to know why."
Aubery sits quietly with a look of pure confusion on his face. "Angels just don't target one human even if that one human has a very strong soul. I mean we aren't hunters....well... not all of us."
Madox nods but doesn't say anything so I take my chance to. "Since when do angels attack people?"
Madox answers without taking his eyes off Aubery. "Angels by nature are jealous creatures, even when Heaven is nice an being dead for them isn't all bad they all want one thing that they cant have right away." He stops for a second as Aubery twitched in his seat, then moves on, "and that's life. Some angels get consumed by this jealously and start to attack and steal the souls from humans so in the long run they can come back to life in some sort of half life which is kind of bad since humans to be really alive you have to go through the whole birthing and aging stages and the fact that they have to keep feeding every two days for the rest of time to keep that life up." Madox laughs to himself then says, "As you can tell that is a big no-no, so the Big Guy upstairs."
