Savannah slid down against the door, holding her trembling hands up to her face as she began to sob. The tears were warm against her cheeks and she held herself tightly as she cried.
She had given her everything to him, but he had just treated her like a second best. He had never truly loved her, no matter how many times he said it or "showed" it. He never loved her.
At the realisation, her sobs, no matter how hard she tried to keep them quiet, began to fill the room. Her shoulders shook as she thought of Chloe and began to sob even harder. They came in short gasps, sounding like muffled whimpers as she covered her face.
She hated being weak and at that moment she felt like she was the most vulnerable person alive. Her heart, no matter how broken it was, still felt and managed to tear into even tinier pieces. She was a fool to think he would return the love she had so ardently felt for him.
Her mascara smeared down her face, making her look like a raccoon and the makeup spread across her dress as she cleaned her hands down on her thighs. The pain spreading across her chest was unbelievable; she didn't think that heartache was that strong.
When Blake had first left her she cried for nights, she couldn't eat or sleep without crying. It was pathetic, but he had truly hurt her more than anyone had ever hurt her in her life. With every tear she shed, she felt herself becoming a little better, but she had never been able to turn back to her old self.
She just turned into the girl that everyone wanted to see.
But he returned and took her, for reasons still unknown, and managed to break the little bit of hope she had left.
Not only did he have a daughter, but the girl's mother was already married. JoAnn had gotten everything that Savannah couldn't.
A year after Blake left, she was in a car accident with a couple of friends. A deer ran across the road and the driver slammed the breaks, hitting a tree and Savannah didn't have her seatbelt. She flew out the window and miraculously survived.
However, the chances of her ever becoming pregnant decreased the moment a piece of glass struck her uterus. The doctors told her that the chances of her being sterile were greater than the average woman because her uterus weakened, making it harder for her to carry a child.
No matter, he gave her some hope. Her uterus could heal overtime and she could try to fix the tissue with technology if she were to ever try for pregnancy.
It left her devastated, but she didn't need to be pregnant because she hadn't met a man that she loved enough to want to have a family with him. And the one that she had loved left her.
Now that he was back and she saw he had the life she wanted to have with him, she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her whole. She suddenly felt alone. She knew they were in the house still, but she felt alone.
No one was on her side, no one understood how broken she felt and no one could help her heal.
Savannah stood up, sniffling as she wiped her tears away and turned around to open the door. It was locked. She sighed, picking up her dress and walked around the room. It was the guest room that she had stayed in so many times when it rained and she couldn't drive back home.
Rain in Thorne Falls was like a constant hurricane. It was followed by floods and landslides that would leave a horrible mess behind. The weather was extremely bipolar; one minute it was sunny and beautiful outside and the next it was raining up a storm. Not only did it change unexpectedly, but it was also dangerous to drive whilst it rained.
