After everyone had officially left for Eli's birthday party Eli ran upstairs to play with his stuff. He left his painting on top of the table. Liz left immediately after Eli opened his presents and made sure to slam the door. Dylan and Lilly stayed after to help clean up. Well Lilly helped clean, Dylan went upstairs to play with Eli's toys. The whole time we cleaned Lilly kept smiling to herself and it started freaking me out. I turned on some music to make cleaning a little more fun. After about half an hour of music blaring and Lilly still smiling to herself I turn it down.
"Ok. Is there something wrong with your face?" I finally asked.
"No. I'm just happy."
"About what?"
"Because Dylan is actually happy. He finally has a girlfriend again."
"What happened with his other girlfriend?" She opened her mouth and made a weird noise before closing it again.
"I can't say. Maybe you should ask him about her."
"Maybe." We clean the rest of the stuff up and head outside where some of the people who work here are letting out the air from the bouncy houses. We clean up everything and outside and when we get finished Lilly says she has to go.
"Where are you going?"
"You may not believe me when I tell you this but I got a job." She says.
"You're right I don't believe you." I say after a pause.
"Good cause you shouldn't." She winks and I laugh.
"Well then where are you going?"
"On a date. I'll text you about it later." I smile. Of course she already has another date.
"Ok. See ya!" I call after her as she walks down the path.
I head upstairs to Eli's room to see what the guys are doing. I knock lightly before opening the door. They're both looking intently at the game on the TV screen and don't notice me come in. I sneak up behind Dylan as they started shooting at zombies.
"BOO!" I scream at Dylan. He doesn't even flinch or turn around.
"Hey Margo." He says casually still keeping his eyes on the game.
"Do you not scare easily?" I ask him watching him shoot at zombies too.
"I don't know but I heard you come in." Well bummer.
"Well you're no fun."
"No Eli that's me. No, no, no. Shoot the other way! Eli turn around! Stop shooting at me!"
"That's not you! That's the other guy!"
"Is that why there's blood flashing on my side of the screen?" Dylan barely finished his question as the screen read GAME OVER.
"Two things. One, I'm pretty sure it takes less bullets than that to kill someone. And two, don't you think this game is a little violent for a seven year old?" I ask. They both turn to look at me and then back at each other.
"No." They answer simultaneously. I roll my eyes.
"Well I beg to differ."
"I like a girl who begs." Dylan says playfully. Eli rolls his eyes.
"Gross." Eli says. I grab a pillow off of Eli's bed and hit Dylan with it and he laughs.
"I'm gonna check on Allison." I announce as they start a new game. Once I see that Allison is still quietly asleep I close the door silently and head to my room. I turn the TV on and find a movie on FX that I haven't seen before. After an hour there's a knock on my door and Dylan pokes his head in.
