I woke up to the feeling of being poked in the cheek and someone saying my name.
"Margo." A husky voice says lowly in a sing song voice. "Margo wake up." I groan and cover my face with the blanket. "Margo." That's when I realize who the sound is coming from. I heave a long sigh and remove the blanket from my face.
"What do you want?" I ask irritated by my boyfriend. He chuckles and I hear him shift on the bed.
"Wake up." He shoves me playfully.
"I don't wanna."
"Come on. It's already nine thirty."
"Exactly why I shouldn't get up yet." I say sleeply. Suddenly there's something soft covering my mouth. I open my eyes for a second to see that Dylan is kissing me. I try to push him away but he doesn't budge. After a second or two he backs away. "Gross. I haven't even brushed my teeth yet." I say sitting up in bed. I look around and notice that I'm not in my room. I furrow my eyebrows and look over at Dylan who's shirtless. He raises an eyebrow along with a smirk and I roll my eyes. "Please don't give me a stupid comment like, 'Like what you see?' or 'Take a picture, it'll last longer.' " I say in my best guy voice. He laughs whether it was at my voice or what I said, I don't know.
"Okay how about, 'Just for you.' " I shake my head.
"Nope. Not acceptable either."
"So I'm just supposed to let you keep staring and not say anything?" I nod. "I don't think that's fair." I shrug.
"That's the disadvantages of being the boyfriend." He rolls his eyes in response. "I'm in dire need of a shower and a toothbrush."
After I take a shower and Dylan finds me a spare toothbrush we head to my house. When we go inside I find Mom sitting at the bar drinking coffee and reading a book. I try to turn around and head back outside but Dylan was standing in the way and grabs my arms and turns me around. I look up at Dylan and glare at him and he gives me a look as if asking what I was doing.
"My mom is in there." I whisper as if that should explain it all. He gives me a confused look. I roll my eyes. "I don't want to talk to her. We aren't exactly on a talking basis." I continue whispering.
"Why are you whispering?" he whispers.
"So she can't hear us. She doesn't now we're here yet. We can still escape." I whisper trying to push him out the door. He doesn't budge.
"Why aren't you two talking?" He questions but I don't get the chance to answer him.
"Margo? Where have you been all night? I called several times." That is in fact a lie. The only person that called was Lilly and then she texted me saying that she found the perfect first day of school outfit.
I close my eyes and take several deep breaths before glaring at Dylan again and turning to face Mom.
"Really? I guess the call didn't go through or something because I didn't get it. You know now that I'm thinking about it I haven't gotten a call from you in years." I feel my anger start to rise and tears start to build.
"Margo please don't-"
"Don't what? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't walk out of this house right now?" My voice rises.
"Margo, I'm really trying here."
"No. You trying would be you grieving in that old run down house you and Dad bought when you first got married. Not running away from us when we needed you most. When I needed you most." I scream with tears falling down my face. "I know I wasn't ever the favorite but you never even tried to be with me. You didn't think twice about me or what would happen to us."
