There were only about three more weeks until summer ended. Dylan, Eli, Lilly, Liz, and I continued to do school shopping whenever we had nothing to do. Today we were going to get our schedules and meet Eli's teacher.
"This is the school?" I ask from the passengers side of Dylan's car. "This is huge."
"There's a lot of students." He shrugs as if it wasn't a bug deal.
"My old school was like half this size." I unbuckle my seat belt and get out of the car. Dylan meets me at the front of the car and we walk hand in hand to the front of the school.
"It looks bigger inside." I say as we enter looking up at the ceiling.
"Yeah I guess." We head into the administration office and wait in line to get our schedules.
"Names." The lady at the desk asks.
"Dylan Jones and Margo Allen." She types on her computer and prints the papers.
"Here you go." She says handing us each a piece of paper.
"Thanks." We both say.
"Oh um Ms. White do you mind if I show Margo around the school? She's new."
"Go ahead Dylan."
"Thanks. Have a good day."
"You too." We turn and walk out the door and make a right turn. We spend half an hour walking around the halls.
"And this is the library. Up those steps is the math and english hallways. Math is on the left, english on the right. And that is your grand tour of the school." Dylan finishes as we reach the front again. I nod.
"That was a lot. I think you'll have to do another on the first day of school." He laughs.
"C'mon, Mackenzie and Eli have to go to Meet the Teacher now." I let Dylan drag me out of the school and to the car as we go to pick up Eli and Mackenzie before going to the elementary school.
"I hope my teacher is nice." Eli says holding my hand and skipping.
"Me too." Mackenzie agrees. We decide to go to Mackenzie's class first and then go to Eli's. Mackenzie gets her cubby situated and puts all of her supplies in their appropriate buckets. We then go say hi to her teacher and let Mackenzie introduce herself. Next we go to Eli's teacher and do the same things for him. His teacher has a hamster named Ryder in his classroom. He said he named him that cause he was always on his wheel.
After the kids play with him for a little bit we leave to go back to our house and hang out.
The last three weeks of the summer ended quickly. Dylan ended up making my birthday a hug surprise party filled with people I didn't know that Dylan wanted me to meet. Most of them were really good friends of his and others the kind of people he thought I would like. I ended up making friends with four girls named Brittany, Chloe, Danee, and Nicky who were really sweet and funny. I hung out with them for most of the party when I wasn't meeting new people or with Dylan.
Lilly and I went to tons of end of the summer pool parties where I met the majority of my class. Liz even tagged along sometimes. Liz and I started to talk a little more. We weren't exactly friends but we weren't enemies and that was enough for me. We were more along the lines of acquaintances even though Dylan wanted us to be closer. I told him not to push his luck.
As for me and Mom I decided that some things just couldn't be forgiven and that was one of them. I couldn't forgive her for leaving us no matter how hard I tried. She kept her distance much to Dylan's dismay. I know Dylan is worried about me and my relationship with her but it's going to take a while for all of that to go away and even longer to forgive and forget.
As for me and my dad we've gotten even closer than ever before. We talk everyday for hours without a beat of silence. He got a job that's actually getting him somewhere in life and he's going to be buying a house. He even met a girl that he works with and they have been talking for the past few weeks since he's started. I talked with her once over the phone and she seems really good for him. He sounds happier than ever and that alone makes me happy. We've already made plans for me and possibly Dylan to fly over there to visit him on holidays and during the summer.
Eli and I went somewhere new everyday until summer was over. There was never a minute where we weren't having the time of our lives. I never thought one of my best friends would be my younger brother but he always puts a smile on my face even early in the morning.
As we st around a campfire on the last day of summer I started thinking back to how my life was before I moved here I realized just how much I was missing. Having six of my closest friends, my boyfriend, my brother and sister, my dad and his girlfriend I couldn't imagine how I could've survived without them. All of them became important to me I realized that this is where my home is, even though my dad is miles away and my mom is nonexistent in my life right now I've never felt safer in a town other than this. Dylan puts his arm around me as he tells a story to Lilly and Liz and Eli and Mackenzie are running around us playing a game that they made up. I look over at Dylan as he uses his face expressions and smile to myself. I lean over and kiss his cheek and he looks at me with a smile before continuing his story. I lean my head on his shoulder and watch the stars.
Having my world be turned around completely and switching lives wasn't as bad as I thought it to be. I gained more than I had ever lost and I couldn't be happier.
AN:/ So that's the end of this story. I was at a lost for what to do with it for a while. Just an FYI it is supposed to be a short story. It's only a time span of two months and it shows how her life changes quickly even though she feels unprepared for it. There are a lot of holes and I plan on going back and adding filler chapters and such but until then that's it for this book. I'm planning on writing other books so keep a look out for those! Hope you enjoyed! Love you lovelies!
