The sound of the gates leading to outside of the walls was heard by all of the soldiers and villagers present. It creaked, groaned and moaned before they were finally open enough for the soldiers of the Survey Corps to pass through, ready for battle.
You turned your head to Levi. He was with his squad, of course. You were in a different one, unfortunately but you had both grown accustomed to it.
Several times had you been outside of the walls but each time got scarier than the last. More ways to die would form in your head, fueling the anxiety that gurgled inside you.
He saw you gazing in his direction and gave you a firm nod, "I'm still with you every step of the way," Levi said, quoting his own words from a couple of days earlier, "Or I'll wait, no matter how long it takes for you to get back.

It had long since fallen night. The stars had risen into the sky, watching over you and Levi as you sat on a slightly elevated wall. Silence was all that could be heard by both of you and any night creatures that were around.
A gush of wind blew past you and Levi, tousling your hair. The two of you were sat on a wall, watching the other cadets get up to their day to day business.
"I want to be different," You whispered.
Levi raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
"I want to be somewhere else."
"Tch, doesn't everyone?" He asked.
You answered with an exasperated sigh, swinging your legs back and forth, "Would you come with me? To... the other place. The other side."
"I'd be there with you every single step of the way," Levi said, squeezing your hand, "Every single step."
"But what if you can't be with me?" You asked, scenarios rushing through your mind.
Levi pulled you into his arms and rested his head on yours, "Then I'll wait, no matter how long it takes for you to get back."

A small smile spread across your face, remembering what he had said. You looked on forward, now ready for the fight ahead.
The commander yelled for everyone to ride out of the security that was the 50 meter walls.
You kept close to your squad, glancing in the direction of where Levi's squad had gone in. Even though you knew he was humanities strongest, you couldn't help but feel worried that he was going to get injured or even possibly die. He promised he wouldn't without you. So he couldn't, could he?
-
A giggle escaped your mouth, as you patted Levi's damp shoulder.
He had just had a meeting with Hanji about the development of the 3D Maneuver Gear to find out that she wanted to play a prank on him by throwing a bucket of freezing cold water at him. Shouts of, 'Fuck you!' and 'You fucking brat ruined my fucking clothes and my fucking hair you bastard!' and 'I'll kill you, shitty glasses!' were heard before you found yourself at the scene.
