2 hours of the almost silent and tightly compacted car journey we eventually made it to the area where they had decided it'd be best to camp at, unfortunately it wasn't a real campsite but just a vibrant green forest that looked as if it was in the middle of no where.
We pulled into the leaf filled car park which looked as if it was never in use and then parked vertically over two spaces.
Vince turned in the drivers seat so he could have a full view of the back seat. He looked at me for a split second then moved his gaze towards Taylor and then said " you and Luke start setting up the larger tent, me and the girl will sort through the bags."
Taylor squeezed my leg, just below the thigh, sending a wave of shock, anxiousness and enjoyment through my body almost causing me to shiver. Why did he just do that? It's just so random. He basically only acknowledged me the other day when he and Luke decided to throw my phone about, we're not close enough for him to just go squeezing my leg.
Both Luke and Taylor scrambled out the car and pulled out a large green oblong bag which had to be the pieces for the tent. As then trotted off into the distance of the forest Vince managed to turn back round toward me and get a few words out that mouth of his, " ha, that got rid of them. We can stay in the warm for a while whilst they struggle to put that thing up," a small chuckle escaped and I smiled, quite uncomfortable with his effort of socialising with me, "I'll get out and sort through the shit in the trunk in a minute," he turned back around to look straight ahead.
I awkwardly gazed out the steamed window whilst stroking the dark fur of Bleu.
After about a minute Vince turned back round and curled his eyebrows in curiosity, " So what's the deal about you three? And tell me some shit about ya," he gave me a warm smile trying to come across as more nice than noisy.
"Us three? If you're talking about Luke and Taylor, absolutely nothing. I'm just staying with Luke, unfortunately, till my parents get back from their trip. And, well, Taylor, I'm not too sure bout him but he's an alright kid," I stopped and narrowed my own eyebrows in confusion. Vince was looking at me and nodded telling me to carry on.
" And there's not really much to say about me, "He positioned himself into what seemed a more comfortable position and started speaking with his weird delicate voice, " By the way I wouldn't exactly say Taylor's a kid, have you seen that guy. And I suppose I actually wanted to know why Luke chose you, like you seem like a nice girl. And Taylor seems a bit close with ya, don't ya think ? "
" Uhm, I honestly don't think I have an answer to any of that. Im pretty clueless about Luke and all his mates so I have no idea why he 'picked' me and I don't think Taylor's been that strange around me to be honest,"
"Hmm, well okay, but I better get out a sort some shit out,"
Vince finally got out the car to the back of it. Vince was about 6ft and had a short black hair in a buzzcut and he was quite masculine and also pale, he also wasn't too bad looking.
I moved Bleu off my lap into the empty seat to the left of me , then slid my phone from my pocket. I had to message Ash.

I feel so awkward here. Luke wanted to go out with 'the boys' and it turns out I had to go too, but it's not just a simple day out with two good mates but camping with the majority of his mates. I'm the only girl and I just don't like this at all.A while went by as I looked out the window and petted Bleu, Vince had finished whatever he was doing and went over to the 4 boys that were just standing round next the other car. Travis suddenly banged on the car window causing me to jump and Bleu to bark in surprise, he then opened the door and told me to get out because we were going to find the 4 boys that went to set up the two tents. I grabbed Bleu's leash firmly and got out of the car, I followed Travis to where the boys were huddled.
Vince spoke "Lola, grab your bags from my boot and start following Justin over to our area, I'm sure he won't bite you,"
I turned to see Justin's reaction, his face was blank and he lifted his middle finger in the air and faced it to the boy. Vince laughed.
I grabbed my bag making sure to stuff two bottles of water for Bleu in them. I have no idea how I'm gonna get Bleu's bowls and food to the tents too. I don't need his bed, he can just use the blanket I stuffed in my bag. I coughed , clearing my voice and timidly asked "Uh, Vince I need Bleu's bowls and some of his food too"
He rubbed the back of his head then replied quickly " don't worry Jack and Alec will do that later,"Oh, so that's their names. Jack and Alec were clearly twins, they had brown hair that curled on top and had bold brown eyes and a cheeky smile that gave off the impression they were always up to something.
I smiled at all the boys trying to show that I appreciated the fact that they were trying to make me feel comfortable.
I whipped my head round to find Justin and I saw him already making his way to the other boys with three bags slung over either a shoulder or and arm. I ran over to him quickly catching up as I had a little help from Bleu pulling on the leash. When I got beside him I couldn't help but look at him for a while, he was so mysterious. "Would you like me to hold one of them bags?" I asked thinking.
He looked at me and laughed out a puff of air, "d'ya not think I can handle holding a few bags?" His voice was deep and made me wanna figure him out so badly."No! I just thought I'd ask," I said accidentally snapping when saying no, but quickly calmed myself down. From all the things I've heard about him I definitely didn't want to get on his bad side.
"Wait, who even are you? But to be honest you could make yourself more helpful," he passed me the bag that was on his arm and I slung it over my shoulder, weighing me down a little.
" Wow, so you do live up to the expectations of what everyone says about you," I murmured
"What the hell do you know bout me? Don't give you the right to say I'm like what people say I'm out to be. You don't know nothin' bout me, okay girl?" He said this as if I offended him and that it hit a soft spot in that solid heart of his.
I decided not to talk back, what even is this boy? He doesn't have to be so rude, Like for fuck sake at least be a little welcoming like the others were. I continued to follow him for about another 5 minutes until we reached the four boys that had successfully put together the two tents.
I threw one of the boys' bags on to the hard soil beneath and then placed my bag that was secure on my back onto the ground as well.I watched as Justin walked towards Si and the other three boys talking amongst themselves. I just stood their uncomfortably until Taylor made his way over to me. He stopped himself directly beside me and was smiling like the Cheshire Cat from Alice In Wonderland. I smiled to the ground and turned my body sideways so I was facing his side. He looked at me, looked straight into my eyes ,locking the contact. He looked as if he was trying to figure something out. I looked away to the nearest tree and started to pretend I was admiring it.
Finally Taylor broke the strangely comfortable silence between us two. Saying " so, you like... Trees?" I studied his face and he actually looked serious about it, causing me to giggle.
" yeah, they're not bad. They're pretty. How about you?" I widened my eyes and straightened my eyebrows. He stuck his hands in his pockets and rocked on his feet, " yeah, they're not bad, I guess,"
I smiled a genuine smile and he returned one whilst slightly looking down and fixing his gaze onto me.
