Chapter 2: Shopping

When we finally arrived in town we rummaged through a few shops but there wasn't anything I really liked until I went in Quiz : this shop never fails to impress me, It always has glamorous dresses that I can never afford. As we were looking around the inside of quiz I saw these dresses one was floral and tight and the other one was long and flowy. I only brought £50 with me and both the dresses together cost £70 I came to a decision that I wouldn't buy either of them until I had lunch but Ashleigh insisted that I bought both.

" I don't have enough money Ashleigh, I'd look horrible in them anyway there's really no point,"

" don't be stupid I will put £20 towards it so then you can get them both, " she said sternly

" but then I won't have enough money to eat and go to the cinema, " I complained

" I'll pay for the lunch and we just won't go to the cinema. We've both seen it already anyway , I was only going to go to pass time by, "

I took both dresses from the shelf that they were hanging up from and headed towards the counter. As I got there the woman smiled and took them both out my hands. She smiled and passed them back.

" £79.99 please "

What! They're charging me nearly ten pound extra.

" wait that's not rig-..." I was stopped mid sentence when Ashleigh said " here you go , " and handed the money.

As we left the shop ,with both dresses, I moaned at Ashleigh about how they charged us more. She told me to stop complaining and pulled me to McDonalds.

We entered McDonalds, it was so busy there were people everywhere , we ordered two portions of fries with two sweet & sour dips. Yum! I love their sweet&sour dips and the only thing I ever order from McDonald's is chips because I'm a vegetarian and I don't really want to try their vegetarian options because I can't really trust anywhere ( stupid really ). The man laid the chips and dips on the black tray and passed us it , we then made our way up the stairs to find a table. We eventually found one by the window and ate slowly and quietly until Ashleigh started mentioning the clothes again, oh wait I forgot to give her the money! I grabbed hold of my bag and pulled out the little pink quilted purse, I then searched through it and took out £50.20 ( all the money I had ) and stuck it in her hand.

" I don't want it, keep it, " she groaned

" no! That's not fair, take the money , "

Ashleigh took £20 and put the rest back into my purse.

" Happy ??" She said sarcastically

" no I'm not take it all" I replied with in a low pitch

" listen I don't need the money, you do! "

I nodded with her but not in agreement, I'll sneak it in her pocket later while she's not paying any attention.

We sat there for about an hour just talking about school and how much we hated the popularity chart.

I was one of the invisible girls that no one liked, I had never done anything wrong they all just had a huge dislike to me. I was branded as the 'quiet good girl whose a geek that brown-noses everyone' I don't mind being branded as any of that but the one I hated the most was the brown nose , I don't brown nose anyone they all just assume I do because I don't act rebellious. I used to be popular... Well in year 2-4 anyway. I hung round with Rose Washington ,who is now the school slag, she used to be one of my best friends, we did everything together. I remember when me her and Ashleigh all had these little snow flake necklaces which had a different word on each of them. I had 'best' , Ashleigh had ' friends' and then Rose had 'forever'. I know we were only young , about 6 or 7, but we thought that we'd always be friends. Rose was always the one who got her own way, but then one day I caught her doing something she shouldn't of been doing , especially at the age of 7 ' with Alex Lake and Joshua Perrett so I told the teacher on her: Miss Cooper said she wouldn't tell Rose who snitched but she must of because after that Rose hated me! Seriously if you knew what she was doing you would do the exact same thing; it was disgusting .

We finally left and went home.
