Lola's POV

School had been okay since Luke first joined, he's stopped harassing me. well, actually Luke still acts all cocky and talks to me throwing in little winks and smirks but he hasn't tried doing anything. I was just about to get dressed for school when my dad called out "Lola, come here quickly," so I made my way out of my bedroom and down the stairs to the living room, where him and my mum were.

"What is it?"

"You're not going to school today. You need to pack," my mum said firmly

It was now obvious that they were being serious about their little trip to China. They're going to leave me for 3 weeks at there friends house, who I have never met. what if I get there and I don't get along with her kids? She can't just ring my parents up to tell them to pick me up because they're half way across the world.

I sighed and then my dad started talking " Lola... This will be a great experience for me and you mother. we're going to help the Li family with their restaurant so they can survive a normal life and it's not fair to drag you along when you have all your school work to do. Anyway Gina is a very nice lady and so are her children. You'll be fine,"

I love it how they use school as an excuse not to take me, I have hardly any revision to do and my exams aren't until next month and we would be back by then. Hey wait! If I need to pack now that means they're going to leave soon, they must have already booked there tickets so I couldn't even go with them if I wanted.

"Okay okay I'm not bothered, when do I go to this woman's house?" I questioned putting my hands on my hips.

"Tomorrow after school," my mum blurted it out as fast as she could hoping that I wouldn't hear. She knows how I've been reacting to what they say lately and she doesn't want an argument straight before she leaves me because she always feels guilty when we have arguments.

I rolled my eyes and stormed off to my bedroom.

I sat on the edge of my bed staring at my wardrobe which had a messy pile of clothes in there, which I now had to sort out. As I was getting up my mum came into my bedroom and rested her arm onto my shoulder.

"I'll help you pack sweetie,"

"Thanks mum," I smiled

As we were searching through the clothes my mum started picking out my short skirts and shorts that I used to wear. I gave her a look , she smiled and said " Gina has a cute son,"

" Oh mum, I'm not there to impress her son," i laughed and rolled my eyes.

I let my mum carry on with the packing so I could watch TV for a while. when I turned it on the weather channel came up and said that it was going to be really hot this month, the hottest we've had in 7 years.

" Mum I think I may need to take my summer clothes,"

I never really wear summer clothes, I used to a lot but then for some reason I just abandoned the style. I actually really like styling clothes but I go to school looking like a mess because the stuck up bitches that Brooke hangs out with would end up saying things like ' oh look who's trying to fit in' or 'geek girl is trying to look like us'. I would never ever want to look or be anything like them, their make up is caked on, they're not even that pretty and they have shitty personalities.

I switched the channel over to Millionaire Matchmaker. That programme cracks me up. The men are gross and most of the time they try to sleep with the girls straight away, I mean they have no respect. I want a relationship were I'm treated with respect. I want to be treated like the 'one and only' but I'd make sure that his family and friends came first. Disney films set high standards, they make you think there's a happily ever after and that there's a Prince Charming that comes to rescues you and then get married just like that, BOOM but no it's not like that.
