Chapter 5 - Meet Blue

"Don't try to win over the haters; you're not the jackass whisperer."

-Scott Stratten

I was late for class my first class of the day, English Lit to be precise. And to think that out of all the teachers I met yesterday, Miss Jameson was the only one who came close to being likable. Now, she was probably going to hate my guts.

The reason why I liked her would probably be because she didn't ask me to introduce myself to the entire class unlike the rest of the teachers. I didn't get why the others had to waste the time with my introductions when I'd be stuck with the same bunch of classmates for an entire semester or school year.

It was easy to maneuver through the school hallways in a brisk pace since it was almost empty. I barely had time to grab my stuff from my locker and make a mad dash into the classroom just right after the Ms. Jameson entered. My eyes scanned the room and I spotted an empty seat near the window. It was cloudy today so it was a good place to sit in.

"You're late Ms. Westcott," she told me sternly as I unobtrusively tried to head towards the seat.

Ms. Jameson was young... and hot! She had deep red hair, which I think is natural, but then, what do I know about this? Her eyes were a vivid dark green, and she was tall, way taller than me, and long legged. Standing next to her makes you feel like the ugly ducklig. And it doesn't help that she wears these body hugging clothes. Seriously, I could see a lot of guys in the class staring at her ass.

Too bad the stares all went my way when she called me out. In fact, right now, the sensation of being stared at was making the back of my neck prickle in annoyance.

"She got lost, Miss," an annoyingly familiar voice sounded just behind me. "Luckily, I was there to rescue her."

I glanced down behind me and groaned as I saw a pair of beat-up blue Converses. My eyes went up and saw Blue (yep, that's what I'll be calling him), the blue-eyed blonde brother of the stalker, who also happens to be a stalker himself, and whose name I can no longer recall.

I heard some wolf whistles from the boys in class. Brutes.

As Blue approached me, he made to sling an arm around my shoulder, but I reacted quickly and ducked to avoid him. I heard some students sniggering.

I groaned again, mentally this time though and vaguely remembered him mentioning English Lit while he was bugging me earlier.

Great, just perfect. This is just what I needed. Having the psycho's brother in class and have extremely reactive and nosey people around me. Someone please, save me!

"Smooth, Mr. T. Brynes," Ms. Jameson said, smiling at him to my surprise, her eyes dancing in amusement. "But she doesn't even look close to being happy seeing you. Now take a seat. You're disturbing my class."

Without delay, I hurried to the empty seat, not even bothering to talk or acknowledge the awkward or curious looks that the people nearby were sending my way.

"Okay," Ms. Jameson began. "Now that you're all here, I want you to direct your attention towards the board. No exemptions, that means including you Courtney. You can finish painting your nails later. I can smell that from here."

A petite, blonde girl at the other side of the classroom blushed furiously and dumped her polish into her handbag.

I grinned. Wow, she didn't even screw the cap back on! Amazing! That's going to spill..
