Undertale: Humans and Monsters

The Surface

A/N: Careful, this contains spoilers about the EXACT quotes when they reach the surface, except their actions (and Frisk talking).

Frisk and the others are finally on the surface. All the monsters are now free. They all stare at the sun with their silhouette showing. Left to right is Frisk, Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and Asgore. Altogether, they stare with thought and tears are all in their eyes. Some are holding it back. One is not crying, but really loves the place.
"Oh my..." Toriel first said when she stared at the sun. Her hands are folded.
"Isn't it beautiful, everyone?" Asgore said with his eyes sparkling.
"Wow...It's e-even better on TV..." Alphys said, smiling with a bit of confidence. Then she blushes with happiness by putting more enthusiasm. "WAY better! Better than I ever imagined!"
Undyne looks at Frisk with shock. "Frisk...you LIVE with this?!" After, she smells the breeze with arms wide apart. She smiles widely. "The sunlight is so nice...and the air is so fresh!" Then, she gave a rough pat on Frisk. "I really feel alive!" She said. Frisk nods.
Papyrus has a confused look on his face, so he asks his brother, "Hey, Sans..." and then Sans looks at him. "What's that giant ball?" When Papyrus said this, his eyes start to water orange.
"We call that 'the sun,' my friend." Sans answers with his eyes looking at him with care.
"That's the Sun? Wowie!!!" Papyrus jumps with glee. His eyes start to water more. "I can't believe i'm finally meeting the Sun!!!" He then notices his eyes are watery, he wipes it off and sniffs.
"I could watch this for hours..." Asgore said, still staring at the sun.
"Yes, it is beautiful, is it not?" Toriel looks at him. "But we should really think what comes next." Asgore looks at her back. "Oh, right..." he replies. Then he looks at everyone, which made them turn around.

"Everyone..." He announces with little tears. "This is the beginning of a bright new future." He smiles at Frisk then back at everyone. "An era of peace between Humans and Monsters." He continues. Then he looks at Frisk again with the same smile. "Frisk..." He said.
"Y-Yes?" Frisk's voice cracks.
"I have something to ask of you." Asgore said. " Will you act as our ambassador to the humans?"
Frisk thought about it for a moment, then said, "Yes.", nodding his head.
"Yeah! Frisk will be the best ambassador!" Papyrus agrees.

"And I, The Great Papyrus..." He points to himself with confidence. "Will be the best mascot!" Papyrus does a happy pose. "I'll go make a good first impression!" He said and runs to somewhere where he can practice his lines.
 Sans looks at him run. Worried but happy. "Welp." He shrugs. "Someone's gotta keep him from getting into trouble." He winks, "See you guys." and went to the opposite direction.
Undyne thought about hard jobs. "Man, do I have to do EVERYTHING?" Then she laughed saying, "Papyrus! Wait!!!" She ran and followed Papyrus' prints that's laying on the ground.
 "Hey, Undyne! Wait up!!!" Alphys follows Undyne as she saw her sprinting.
"Whoops." Asgore blurts. No one answered. They stared at the sun for a long time. 10 seconds later, the king said, "Uh, should I do something?" with boredom.
"..." Toriel looks at him with a 'what do you think' face.
Asgore does a nervous look. "Well, gotta go!" and he leaves.

It's just Toriel and Frisk now. The goat looks away.
"It seems everyone is quite eager to set off." She said. She looks at Frisk with her motherly brown eyes after 5 seconds of staring. "Frisk.." She began. "You came from this world, right?" Frisk nods, "uh-huh." Toriel suddenly does a little sad look.
 "So you must have a place to return to, do you not?" She asks. Frisk nods, "yep." Toriel kneels down to them. "What will you do now?" She wants Frisk to know whether to stay with her and the others or go to other places. Frisk instantly selected to stay with her.
"I want to stay with you..." Frisk said. They look at her and smiles with their blank expression. "Goat Mom." They said.
Toriel gasps and blushes with her hands on her mouth. "What?" She reacted. "Frisk..." She gets up with tears about to flow. "You really are a funny child." She laughs.
Frisk smiles with two pointing fingers at their official mother. "Because you are a goat!" Frisk laughs back. Toriel nods and stops laughing.
 "If you had said that earlier, none of this would have happened." Toriel hugs Frisk. They hug back. While Toriel comforts her hug with a little rub on Frisk's back, she cries tears of joy.
"Sniff...It is a good thing it took you so to change your mind." She then detaches her arms from Frisk and giggles. "Well...I suppose." She puts her arms on her chin. "If you really do not have other places to go..." Frisk listens. "I will do my best to take care of you as long as you need." Toriel puts her hand to heart, closing her eyes for promise. "All right?" She opens her eyes.
"Yes, just use my pronouns right." Frisk agrees. They're really excited to explore a whole new journey. Toriel nods, meaning she will.
"Now, come along." She held out her hand. Frisk smiles and takes her hand softly. "Everyone is waiting for us!" Toriel said, tears are now gone and dry. They both walked out of the scene to go to their new home.
