October 5th, 1991.

Lunch.

Jade's pov. //

I have to admit, it's pretty awkward sitting at a table with only 4 people and one of those 4 people you don't talk to anymore. But that'll change soon... I just don't know when yet.

Every now and then i'll see Tre look at me, and every now and then i'll look at Tre... and sometimes we'll accidentally look at each other and then quickly look away like nothing happened. It's hard because I want to talk to him... and you can tell he wants to talk to me too, but I told him I loved him and he lied straight to my face, when he felt the same damn way. You cant just shrug something like that off.

"So, you guys know the US tour we're planning? Well Jade's coming with us." Billie said, smiling.

Mike cheered and woohooed, but as soon as Billie finished his sentence, Tre literally started choking on a fry he had put in his mouth seconds before.

"Wow, dude, you okay?" Mike said to Tre after he calmed down, which took a few moments.

Tre wiped his lips and mumbled, "Uh, yeah. That's uh.. that's cool." and looked down.

I laughed a little, I was the only one who laughed, but it made Tre look at me, which was my goal.

"Maybe I should forgive him sooner than I planned." I thought to myself.

I mean, it's unnecessary if i wait for weeks... but its also kind of unnecessary if i wait for more than like 2 days. I get where hes coming from... in a way. And plus, I fucking made an 18 year old boy cry. I've never done that.

He looked at me blankly, and I gave a soft smile.

He rose his head and he looked very shocked. But also happy, happier than I've seen him all day.

Right after I gave Tre a smile, Billie looked at me gave me a look like he was proud.

"I saw that." He mouthed.

I just nodded.

"Are you gonna talk to him?" He whispered.

Again, I just nodded.

12:03 pm. //

After lunch, as all of us were walking out of the cafeteria, I walked up behind Tre and gently grabbed his arm, making him turn around.

"Hi." I said.

"I thought you said you weren't gonna talk to me again..." He looked sad.

I shrugged.

"I'm sorry..." He mumbled.

"I know. " I said, looking up at his beautiful baby blue eyes.

I got butterflies just looking at him, and quickly looked down.

"So.. you forgive me?" He asked, leaning down.

I looked back up at him and said, "At a certain extent... yes."

He didn't say anything, but just bent down and wrapped his arms around my waist, rested his head on my shoulder and squeezed really tightly. I was a lot smaller than Tre, so my body kind of just got eaten up by his...

It took me a second, but I hugged back, and as soon as I did, I didn't want to let go. He smelled so good, and I felt so safe in his tight embrace. I wanted to stay like this forever. But sadly, that didn't happen.

He let go, looked at me again and said, "I'll explain myself later.. right now we have a class that we should get too..."

"I don't care if i'm late... and I know you don't either.." I said.

It's not like I was still mad at him, and I needed to know exactly why he did what he did right this moment... I just want to spend more time with him. And I think he knew that by the way he smiled at me when I said that.

We walked further up towards the water fountain, so we weren't just standing in the middle of the hallway, and Tre leaned his back against the wall and looked at me.

"When I first saw you... I didn't know what to say. Or even think. You made me think that love at first sight was real... but I saw over time that you and Billie were just inseparable. And I thought that you liked him... I didn't know what to do. Then Billie told us about Adrienne, and then he showed us 2,000 Light Years Away, and even though I knew that it was about Adrienne, I thought about you. And my first thought was to cause as much chaos as I could, because if i couldn't have you, then nobody could..." He said.

I was absolutely speechless.

I just looked up at him.

"Why did you lie though?" I asked.

"Because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The girl I had fallen in love with, actually loves me back... it didn't sound real to me. Only like that shit in the movies."

"I get where you're coming from, Mr. Cool." I said as I patted his chest.

I was really short compared to Tre, I only came up to the collar on his shirt. And Tre is shorter than the average 18 year old...

He just laughed a little.

I immediately blushed harder than ever when I heard his laugh. It's so amazing...

I looked down and covered my face.

"What?" Tre asked.

"Nothing..." I looked back up at him, my cheeks still red as tomatoes.

He smiled and pulled me closer to him, instead this time he didn't bend down, so i was squished against his chest. My hands were just resting on his chest, and his arms were wrapped around my waist. He smelled like Old Spice, but not too much. I honestly could stay like this forever.

"You just smell so nice..." I thought to myself.

"Thanks." I heard Tre say.

Well I guess that wasn't to myself, then.

"Oh my god, i'm sorry, that was really creepy..." I laughed nervously, pulling away from Tre.

He laughed again and said, "No, your good.."

We finally decided to go to class, even though there wasn't much time left, anyway. Just before we walked into the classroom, I pulled Tre back, stood on my tip-toes and kissed his cheek. I heard him swallow as he looked at me, full shock on his face.

I smiled at him and walked into the classroom.

I sat at my usual spot, next to Billie and in front of Mike, and as soon as i sat down, Billie looked at me and whisper shouted, "What took you guys so long!?"

I turned around in my seat and looked at Tre, he had this cheesy smile on his face. He looked like a little boy who just a shit ton of candy.

Billie then looked me, then at Tre and said, "Oh. Wait you guys are friends again!?"

Tre didn't say anything, but still had that cheesy smile on his face.

"Yeah... I felt kind of bad." I teased and shrugged.

"Hey!" Tre whisper shouted to me, making me laugh.

"It's nice seeing you guys talk again." Mike said to us, smiling.

It's nice talking again...
