[Kriya's POV]
Reaching the green room again, I saw everyone was ready and waiting around. Kat walked to me as soon as the door opened and I had entered, "There you are! You have ten minutes left. Where were you?!"
I was hoping I wasn't still blushing. I was adamant on not talking about it as I went to open my bags and take my outfit out. Kat didn't push it and simply helped me get ready, for which I was grateful. With five minutes remaining, one by one, the girls left to take their spots behind the stage and I quickly put on light make up. "You really are something, you know that?" Kat commented.
I winked and laughed at the comment. "Let's go." I said, putting my kit back in my bag. We turned but I stopped.
"What now?" Kat asked. I didn't reply but simply went up to my bag again and started fishing for something. "What are you looking for?" Kat asked. Again, the question was ignored. Finally, I found the small ring on a silver chain. Relieved at finding it, I hooked it around me, hid it underneath her necklace and was finally ready to go. It was a ring given by my mother, my dad's ring, which I considered to be my good luck charm.
Kat shook her head, confused but not asking the question.
When I entered, Rey wouldn't stop looking at me. I gave him a glare that told him to look away. He gave a cute pout, which took all of my will power to not awe at. He had to soon divert himself. As time for my performance neared, I was getting cold. I had to rub my arms several times to stop myself from shaking. It wasn't cold. But it was just how my body reacted in times as such. Christian, who was sitting next to me, looked at me and silently, with his eyes, asked if I was okay. I blinked in response to let him know I was fine.
One after another, everyone was giving great performances. It was expected. It was simply raising the heat. Vaibhavi and Rey's comments weren't helping me either, not that I could blame either of the two. They were only being fair and judging.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, put your hands together for the brilliant Indian lady, coming all the way from Vancouver, Kriya Ghai!" The host announced.
Lights dimmed and I knew. This was it. This was the moment that counted. My first step towards my 'time'. I took my position on stage, sent a quick prayer, and stood in starting posture.

Everyone, the audience and the contestants alike, were stunned. I was overwhelmed by the response I got. Not all of them knew Hindi but it was amazing how they could still understand the performance.
Vaibhavi was first to comment. "And you've just proven why we approved of you without a second thought. The expressions were beautiful. Contemporary is about expression and letting out the feelings. I could feel that. Overall, a perfect beginning of the journey."
Next was Rey's turn. I looked at his expression for the first time since I had been on stage. Suddenly, I felt guilty, realizing that this act could have made him guilty of his actions, which wasn't my intention at all. "All I'll say is I could hear your story loud and clear. The pain that one goes through was put in outstandingly and the choreography was well put. And the costume... it's just WOW! When you really do get married, I pity the guy."
Only I got the hidden meaning behind that comment. He was definitely a goner seeing me in a semi-wedding outfit. As a contestant, I had to thank him. But mentally, I made a note to scold him for making that comment.
Returning to my place, Kat and Christian both complimented. "There's no chance for us, is there?"
I nudged her to stop with the praises. Christian was simply noticing things. For a second, he flashed a look over to Tara, in the audience and blanked out in his world.
