Song on side- I want crazy- Hunter Hayes
Chapter Three
I walked through the cafe to get some junk at the snack bar. I knew I should be eating apples and healthy food, as Davis would say, but if I want a bag of chips, I'm going to get it whether he likes it or not. Besides, we have five hours still until our game. I bought two bags of doritos and a soda and just as I was about to take a seat a girl came up to me and told me Davis wanted to see me."Why?" I asked her annoyed that he was disrupting my damn lunch. Couldn't he take me out of a class I didn't want to be in instead of taking me out of lunch?
"I don't know, he just said he wanted to talk to you." She said shrugging her shoulders. I would lash out on her, but she was only following orders from him so it isn't her fault that my lunch is being ruined. I thanked her and took the pass from her. She walked back with me since she was in the class. She said she was a freshman and that it was just a study hall. I asked her if Davis looked mad when he told her to come get me so I could at least prepare myself but she said no. I nodded wondering what he needed me for then.
I walked into the room to see only five other kids in the room and Davis was in the front of the room on his laptop. I walked over to him and asked him what he wanted. He clicked his tongue and then went in his bag and gave me the two captian bands and told me to give one to Beth. I gave him a look that basically showed how annoyed I was for taking me out of lunch for this. "Oh and I need you to go down to the locker room and make sure all of the equipment is there and that people will bring it up by the time of the game." He said and I resisted the urge to ask him why he couldn't do that himself but he's probably throw in a remark saying, I'm sorry I thought you were the captian of the team.
"Oh and Grey?" He asked and I waited for what he was going to say. He snatched my bags and soda out of my hands and ignoring my protests to give them back. He then went into his bag and got out a bottle of water and a granola bar. I gave him a look and he placed the two right in front of me. "You have a game today, make smart choices." He said and I rolled my eyes and grabbed the water and bar."What are you going to drink then?" I asked.
"Oh I don't have to play." He said popping open my bag of chips and inhaled the scent of them. "Oh I love doritos." He said and I slowly inched closer to try and grab them back, or at least get one chip out of the bag but he pulled it out of my reach and then ate one. "Next time you should get cool ranch, they're better than nacho." He said and I gave him a sarcastic smile as I snatched the bands off the table and left the room.
I looked down at the granola bar and sighed, I really wanted those chips...
After school ended I had to rush home to my brother's school and pick him up. My parents were both working late tonight so he needed to stay with me. I'd have to take him out earlier than school would usually end but he was really only missing twenty minutes either way. I was just worried that I would end up late. I called Davis as I got out of the car and headed toward my brother's school and told him that I just had to go grab him and that I was already in my uniform. All I had to put on was my shin guards and stuff when I got up to the field but it was only three almost and we would start warming up around four. Apparently Max had a new girlfriend because when I went to go pick him up he was sharing his hershey's bar with her, and Max never shares...
