I used to go to my dad's every summer, but this year it's different. I was moving into my dad's, because my mother got remarried and she wanted me out of the house. If you ask me, getting married is not a good enough reason to kick your own daughter out of the house. But fortunately, my dad said he'd let me stay with him in his beach house down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to live there until my mother got "settled'. The best thing about moving to my dad's is that he said for the summer, I could bring along two friends for the summer, and I was bringing my best friends Kate and Isabelle.
Never would I have thought that this summer was going to be a twist of want I thought would happen when i was down there.
Gosh, now i feel horrible. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jade Emerald Owens, my mom was so into gems she named me after her two favorites. Anyways, here's a bit about myself, I'm fairly good looking, even though my friends say I'm gorgeous. I have long, brown wavy hair and hazel eyes with hints of gold in them. I am 17 years old, 5'9", and smart compared to most people. I've been getting straight A's and A+'s my whole life. But this year it's going to be different because new schools make me sick to my stomach. New people, new friends, new teachers, and new everything was just making me crazy and I'm sick of it! Though at least I'll have the summer to get to know people, well hopefully.
Anyways, so here I was driving down to Florida, all the way from New Hampshire, and trust me it was a long drive but i think it would to be worth it. So here I am thinking about this as I'm driving down the highway, thinking about all the possibilities of what could happen during the summer and the school year. Ok now back to the present.
"Kate!" I scream, "Shut the hell up, I'm trying to drive here, God!"
"Geez, sassy much!" Kate says quietly.
"Well sorry, but were kind of in a traffic jam if you didn't notice, and its going to be awhile until we get moving again," I say, "And its going to take longer than we though."
"Hey Jade, can we stop somewhere soon, I'm dying of thirst here," Isabelle says rather loudly.
"Isabelle, did you not hear a word I just said!" I exclaim loudly, "Were stuck in traffic!"
"TURN HERE NOW!" Kate screams. I do what she says and then I turn to the passenger side to see why she wanted me the turn at one of the exits.
"Why did you make me turn at this exit?" I say curiously.
"Well on this map here, it says that by turning here, and then go straight for about 5 miles, then turn right, we will get back to the high way, away from the accident." She says smartly, and may I add, she's the only one that can read a map without getting confused, so I trusted her fully. Then we come across a McDonalds and Isabelle starts screaming.
"Jade, please stop, I'm starving and dying of thirst! She screams.
"Fine, but just for a few minutes." I say, happy that we are stopping. I pull over and park the car and them Isabelle and Kate start running for the door and barge in and I'm left walking by myself, not that i mind though. As I open the door, not looking where I'm going, i just happen to bump into someone making me fall to the ground. And not surprising, Kate and Isabelle don't notice.
"Ouch!" I say as I fall and hit the ground.
"Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going!' a guys says very quickly. I then look up and see a really hot guy, well more like a God, about my age standing there, holding out his hand for me. I grab it and he pulls me up.
"Umm, i-its o-ok, it was my f-fault anyways, I-I was just trying to catch up with my f-friends." I say stuttering because of how good looking he is and how i just though he looked like a God!
"Ok then, my names Noah by the way, umm, what's yours?" He asks curiously.
"Oh umm, my name is Jade, and nice to meet you Noah, but I've got to find my friends and then leave." I start walking away, but then I notice how sad he just looked but he covers it up so quickly, I almost don't see it.
"Umm, wait how about I buy you something, its the least I can do." He says smiling. I nod and walk over the counter and order a medium drink and a sundae.
"Thanks, by the way, for ya know, buying this for me." I exclaim happily and I look up to his crystal blue eyes and get lost in them. I then notice what I was doing and I clear my throat, only to get the life scared out of me.
"Jade there you are, we thought you left without us!" Isabelle says in relief. She then notices Noah and looks between the two of us. "And how might this be?'
"I'm Noah, nice to meet you...."
"Oh I'm Isabelle, nice meeting you Noah, but Jade here has to drive about another 17 hours, so we kind of want to get going, and sorry for interrupting your conversation." She says smiling. I roll my eyes at her and throw away my trash and then I look Noah.
"Isabelle, Kate I'll meet you in the car okay?" I say quickly, wanting to get over what I had to say. "Umm, Noah, it was nice meeting you, but I really have to get going." My face falling as I say it, not wanting to get way from him. I start to walk away, but I hear Noah's voice, so I turn around and face him.
"Jade, wait, I like you so can I at least get your number?" He says smiling, which makes me blush under his gaze. I grab a napkin and pull out a pen from my purse and write down my number. "Thanks," he says while writing down his own, "I'll call you sometime."
"Ok, well bye." I say pulling him into a hug and then walking away.
