(???)

I looked down at the puny human girl as she looked back up at me in wonder and disbelief.

"Are you...really that wolf I met?" She said in a whisper my ears twitched at the sound of her soft voice. "Yes, it is, I came to say thank you for taking care for my wounds." She just looked at me but then her enchanting smile found its way on to her rosy lips.

I flushed and turned away from the human girl. "That is all I had came hear to say! If that is all I'll be going now!"

"Ah! Wait!" She quickly grabbed my arm. I looked back at her, her face was hidden under her hood but I could tell it was flushed as well. "Please..." Eh? "Please...stay!" She looked up at me her turquoise pleaded for my stay. "Ever since I saw you in the fields I... I was completely fascinated with you...you are truly beautiful...a-and I would like to talk to you more!"

My eyes widen at her declaration and I felt my face heat up once more. I turned away from her and covered my mouth with the back of my hand. Suddenly she let go of my arm, I turned back around to face her to see her fiddling with her hood. "I'm sorry... I just bombarded you with all sorts of things and demanded that you stay! I'm sorry that was selfish of me!"

She held her head down as she apologized. I was stunned but quickly I was holding my stomach and laughing at the red hooded girl. Her face was quickly turning as red as a tomato. I laughed even more.

"W-What's so funny!?!" She raised her voice clearly not happy with my reaction. "It's-- it's just that--" I said between pants, I had to gain my composure once more to speak.

"Ha! It's just...there's no need to apologize!... Come!" I held my hand out to her and she stared at it, but she looked back at me and smiled, she then gently place her hand on top of mine. Her fingers brushed against mine, they were soft and her skin was so fair.

I tightened my grip and her small hand and we walked through the forest. "Name... What is your name, if you don't mind." "...I don't have a name... How about this why don't you give me one."

I look back at the girl holding my hand. Her eyes widen and then they softened as if in thought. "You don't have to rush, remember this is my name!" "Geez way to go and make me more nervous than I already am!"

I chuckle, and she starts to pout. "Oh do you mind! I need to gather fire wood for my grandmother!" I looked at her and nodded. She smiles, "I'll help that lumber can be heavy." She nodds at me and we begin to gather many sticks in twigs that had fallen from the trees.

I saw her put the wood that could fit in her basket, we carried the rest down to her grandmother.

...

We were now following the stream and I could see the water mill from the distance. "Thank you, again for doing this!" She turned to me as we walked, "Hn..." Was all I said and we entered a comfortable silence. When we reached her house the brown haired girl knocked on the door. "Wait! What about your ears!" She said in a panick. "It's fine, I'll blend them in with my hair." She sighed and faced the door once more.

"There you are dear-- oh and who is this young gentle men!" We both looked at the old woman and I then turned my eyes to the girl.

"...Winter..." She whispered. Even though she whispered my new 'name' her grandmother seem pleased and nodded at the answer. "Come in you two, Winter dear you can set them by the fireplace. I nodded as a response and the girl followed suit. "Grandmama here is the meat you had asked for!" I stood up straight to see her handing the woman her basket. "Thank darling, we can have it with the soup tonight! Oh Winter would you like to stay for dinner?"

I was shocked for this was the first time anyone has ever let me stay over for dinner, much less enter their home. A small smile showed itself as I replied, "Yes, thank you for having me!"

...

"That was a delicious meal! Thank you!" I said after finishing my meal. "Thank you!" Soon the old woman took our plates and headed with them to the kitchen.
A few moments later she came back with a small frown on her face.

"What's wrong grandmama?" The old woman shooked her head and sighed. "The snow it's to thick, I saw it outside the window, Winter you should stay here so you won't freeze to death."

I looked at the girl sitting across from me however all she did was shrug. I looked back at the concerned old lady, "Thank you, I would like to stay if that is alright." She smiled and said 'of course!' She also said that I would stay in her granddaughter's room.

...

"So... Where am I going to sleep?" I ask the human who was now brushing her brown locks in a mirror as I stood behind her. "On the floor of course!" She answered me a little flushed, I smirk showing one of my fangs. She just sighed and stood up from her chair and face me. She then handed me a pillow and a blanket, and pointed to the floor beside her bed. I growled, but she didn't have it. I sighed and made my little bed on the floor.

She claimed into her own bed and blew out the candle.

...

"Winter...Winter..." I woke up to the sound of my name the girl had given me, it was dark and the only light was the moon illuminating the room through the window. I looked up to see my view of the ceiling being blocked by the same turquoise eyes looking down into my golden orbs.

"Sorry to wake you but I had a few more questions to ask you..." "Couldnt this wait until morning?" I looked up at her but she hid her eyes behind her bangs. "It's just that... I'm afraid when I wake up... You won't be there..." Soon I felt something wet drop on my cheek, my eyes widen at the sight of tears streaming down her face. Her tears were like crystals that I couldn't look away as each one fell to the floor.

Is it wrong to think that something so sad... Is so beautiful at the same time...

I stretched out my hand to caress her right cheek. She placed her hand on top of mines and she silently sobbed until she had no more tears to cry.

"Finished?" She nodded while wiping the remaing tears away from her eyes. I then reluctantly withdrew my hand, but she tugged it back not wanting to let go. I stared up at her and she stared back. "Your questions..." "Huh?" "The reason you woke me up." "Oh yes." She gave me a small smile and continued to ask her questions later into the night. We both found out we were the same age of 14...

"Hey Winter, how did you become a human, or should I say hybrid." She played with my ears which I didn't completely mind, her touch was gentle and it relaxed my mind. "I don't really know I was born like this and my parents... I never really met them..."

...Sob...

Eh?

I sat up and saw that she began to cry again. She was rested on her knees with the same crystal like tears dripped down her fair skin. I stretched my hand out to only completely miss my target. For she had engulfed me in a hug and harried her head in the crook of my neck.

"I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry!" "Silly girl why are you apologizing?" "Because never meeting your parents isn't that sad?" She said this in between sobs and hiccups. "Sad?" Later I heard her breathing becoming more steady and I had realized she had cried herself to sleep.

"Geez I don't understand her." I laid her gently back on her bed and tucked her in.

"I didn't even get to ask for her name..."

"...Red..."

Huh?

"My name... It's Red..."

I looked at the girl sleeping peacefully and smiled.

"...Red...Huh?"

Goodnight... My dear Red Riding Hood...
