Lost

-Chapter 6-

That night, the girls and I went to the grove for a night of fun. We first went to have some dinner, then we walked around for a bit.

"You guys want to race to the fountain?" Kendall asked.
"Totally!" Kalani said. "Partner race!"

I ran over to Kalani and jumped on her back. Maddie went to Kendall, Jojo went to Nia, and Mackenzie chose to walk on her hands.

"We're gonna beat you!" Maddie chanted, clinging to Kendall.
"Whatever!" Kalani replied.
"Ready?" asked Melissa. "Set? Go!"

We took off running across the paved road to the fountain. Maddie slipped of of Kendall, sending them tumbling into a pile of giggles. Jojo and Nia then arrived at the fountain, and burst into cheers.

"Champions!" Nia shouted, laughing.
"Victory!" Jojo called.

Kalani went over to Nia and jumped on her back.

"Second is the best!" she laughed.
"Whatever!" Nia replied, giggling.

When Kendall and Maddie caught up with us, we all went over to the fountain to admire it. Mackenzie came over and stood next to me.

"Stay there girls!" Melissa said.

Mackenzie turned to me and laughed as Melissa took a picture.

"Sorry about that, she's always taking pictures." Kenzie giggled.
"It's fine, my mom's the same way." I replied.

All of a sudden, 'Ex's and Oh's' by Elle King, which is my favorite song, came on the radio.

"I love this song!" I cheered.
"Me too!" Kenzie said. "Let's go dance!"

We ran out to an open area and started improving. The other girls caught on and came to join us.

"Improv battle!" Nia called.

Nia and Kendall walked out in the middle, while the rest of us stepped back to watch. Nia did a fan kick, but Kendall topped it with a crowd pleasing front aerial into a safety. I turned around and saw that a crowd had formed around us. Nia backed up and Kendall walked up to me, signaling that we were battling next.
I walked out and did a one handed front walkover, then transitioned into a triple pirouette. Kendall came up and did a leap, and rolled to the floor. I walked up to her and did a back handspring, which caused the crowd to erupt in cheers.
I walked over to Maddie, choosing her to battle next. She walked out and did a straddle leap. I walked out a did a fan kick around her, then went into a back handspring back aerial. The crowd cheered, signaling that I had won. Maddie looked at me and frowned, almost scowling. I shook it off, knowing she probably wasn't really mad mad me.
After a while, the crowd died down and we ended the dance off. It was almost ten, so the moms decided it was time to head home. I said goodbye to Kalani, Nia, Kendall and Jojo, then followed the Ziegler's to the car.
Soon, we arrived at my hotel.

"Thank you." I said to Melissa.
"Anytime cutie! See you and your mom tomorrow!" She said smiling.
"Bye Brynny!" Kenzie called.
"Bye Kenzieboo!" I replied.

Maddie glared at me, then rolled her eyes. Was she really mad at me?
