Lost

--Chapter 12--

I walked onto the stage smiling proudly and got into my starting pose. Soon, the music started and I began to dance. I got so into the music, I forgot about everything. Maddie, Jenna, winning. I was so into the music that when it came to my a'la seconds I fell out of them, but I attempted to save it by rolling to the floor.
Soon, my music came so a slow end. The crowd erupted with cheers as I gracefully walked offstage.

"Brynn that was amazing!" Kalani squeeked, hugging me tightly.
"That was really good!" Kenzie agreed, handing me a water bottle.
"Thank you." I panted between sips. "We should go get ready for the group dance."
"Good idea." Kalani said.

We walked back into the dressing room where the moms, girls and Abby started prepping for the group.
Our dance was to a cover of firework by Katy Perry. Each of our costumes were a different 'rainbow' color to represent fireworks. Kalani had red, Kendall had orange, Jojo had yellow, Nia had green, I had blue, Kenzie had purple, and Maddie had a pink costume and a black cape.

"Maddie, Brynn. Good job on your solos." Abby said. "Brynn, watch those turns."

I looked down at my feet.

"Abby, I think Brynn did fine with or without the turns." said my mother.
"But she still slipped." Abby said. "That could effect her placement."

My mom was about to say something, but I sent her a glare as to say 'stop'. I didn't need anything else against me.

Soon, it was time to walk backstage. Kenzie walked over to me and we walked down the hallway. I had a death grip on her hand, and she had one on mine. I didn't know why I was still nervous, my solo was over.
We sat backstage, stretching and running through our routine. Suddenly, we heard it.

"Up next, with a teen lyrical number, this is Firework."

We slowly walked onstage and got into our poses. The music started and we began to dance.
Then dance went amazing. We were on time, no one slipped or messed up, and we had no costume malfunctions. I was so proud of all of us.
As the music came to an end, we slowly walked off the stage and into the wings.

"We killed it!" whisper cheered Jojo.
"I love you all!" Kalani exclaimed, followed by us laughing and telling her to be a bit quieter.

We then walked back to the dressing room. The moms hadn't gotten there yet, which was a relief. As much as we love our moms, we hate seeing them fight.

"How do you think we did?" asked Nia.
"I think we did good." Maddie said. "What about you?"
"I agree." Nia replied.

Soon, the moms arrived and talked for a while. It was actually peaceful for most of the time. I was calm up until the time it was time to go to awards. My heart pounded as we walked down the hallway, my legs shaking underneath me. We walked up into the wings and onto the stage. It took a while, but the announcer soon made their way to the stage.

"Are you ready for some awards!" they said, voice booming throughout the auditorium. "Let's start with the minis."

After the minis and juniors came our category, then teens.

"Okay, here are our top five teen soloists." he began. "In fifth place, we have Hannah with 'Weeping Willow.'"

We applauded. I could feel my hands shaking.

"In fourth place, we have Allyson with 'We Own The World.'"

More applause, more shaking and trembling.

"In third place, we have Olivia with 'Snake.'"

Teeth chattering.

"In second place, we have...."

sorry I haven't updated recently! I get out of school on tuesday, so I will try to be more active over the summer.
