Lost

--Chapter 10--

The next day, I went left for dance almost terrified. We had our competition tomorrow, and both Maddie and I had solos. I wanted to do my best and try to win, but I did not want Maddie to continue to hate me.

"Brynny!" cheered Kenzie as I walked into studio B.
"Hey!" I replied, a slight glum tone in my voice.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yeah, of course." I lied.
"Okay." Kenzie responded smiling, obviously believing what I had said about being alright.

Soon, Abby started rehearsal and I had the chance to practice my solo. It was a contemporary solo to an instrumental song called Dusk. I walked confidently into rehearsal, in hopes Maddie was not watching me.

"That was flawless!" cheered Abby, before she let me take a small break.

I walked into the hallway and down to the water fountain. I leaned down to take a sip of water, then adjusted my hair. Suddenly, Maddie walked by.

"I saw you learning your solo." she said, a serious look on her face.
"And?" I asked.
"It's great." Maddie replied.
"Thanks!" I cheered.

Maybe I was wrong about Maddie. Maybe she changed.

"It's too great." she added.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"It's better than my solo." Maddie grumbled. "Don't beat me."

Maddie walked away, and I went back to practice with Abby.

After dance, I flopped down on my bed. I was exhausted and stressed. I was so excited about my solo, yet terrified to go against Maddie. I didn't know what to do. I knew I should try my best, but what would happen if I beat Maddie?

"Hey B, what do you want for dinner?" asked my mom. "Chinese, Italian?"
"Could you get Italian from the place down the street?" I asked.
"Sure thing! I'll be back soon." my mom replied, closing the door behind her.

I then took out my phone and opened up messages. I had a message from Addy.

Addy: hey bae! I hope you had a great day! I'm so excited to see videos of your solo!
Brynn: thanks Addy! wait, how did you know I had a solo?
Addy: I'm magic;)
Brynn: haha, obviously. thanks again for the message, today was okay.
Addy: aww brynnyboo. remember, you can always talk to me
Brynn: LOVE YOUU
Addy: LOVE YOU TOOO. g2g, alexa needs assistance hahaha.
Brynn: talk to you soon!

I set down my phone and took a deep breath. I was so thankful that Addy was still my friend. Yet as much as I loved Addy, I missed Jenna. I wanted to text her, but I wasn't sure I wanted to see her respond.
My head suddenly flooded with emotions. Anger, sadness, joy, confusion, all for different reasons. Sadness for Jenna and Maddie hating me, joy for Addy still being my friend, confusion for why Maddie hated me, and anger for just everything. I placed my hands on my face and shook my head. Maybe I didn't fit in here. Maybe I did.
I wasn't sure anymore.

Ahh! I'm so sorry for not being active! I've been so so busy with homework, dance, my school's musical, and family things.

Anyways, I just want to make sure that everyone knows this is a completely made up story. Small parts like Brynn being on Dance Moms are true, but the main plot with conflict between Maddie and Brynn is made up for the story.
