WELCOME TO THE CRAPPIEST CHAPTER EVER

The darkness was comforting. It surrounded him like his very own armour, engulfed him completely and unconditionally in it. It was wonderful, and it felt like his own little heaven.

Joe stared up blankly at what could only be darkness, faintly hearing the crooked clock on the wall tick by ever so slowly. Yet to him, it felt as if no time had passed at all. Hours could be minutes, or vice versa, but for Joe, time was just time. He liked to "live in the moment" as they say it. Yes, that.

He took a deep breath. It smelt like... air? Fresh. Yes, fresh. Well really, it smelt like nothing. Absolutely nothing. That's why Joe always loved the dark, because in the dark you saw the dark, which is nothing. There was no need to question anything because there was nothing. Because Joe lived in an era where people's lives were centred around questioning things. From dumb questions like, "What is an apple?" to questions like, "What is the meaning of life?"

Pointless, really. Why question the meaning of life? Why not just make it simple and say that the meaning of life is life? To live in that moment in time that you are alive. Why do people have to question things instead of doing things?

A faint whine beside him interrupted his thoughts. Ah, he had forgotten.

"Joe," a whisper tickled his ear, "are you awake?"

Joe felt a smile curling at his mouth as the soft breath beside him gently ruffled through his hair.

"Yes, Caspar," he whispered, staying quiet, afraid to break the silence. He heard shuffling beside him and a few groans here and there before a weight settled on his shoulder. It was Caspar's head.

The breathing was now closer to his ear.

"Joe," Caspar whined, pinching Joe in the forearm, "I'm bored."

Joe tensed. Whenever Caspar said that, it usually meant... But... He was tired and it was midnight. He wouldn't want to wake the neighbours up with all the.. noises. But even in his head, they all sounded like excuses, and after a few more tugs at his shirt by Caspar, he finally gave in.

Joe grinned in excitement, his previous dread long gone, as he felt Caspar's head slide down to his neck, his warm breath tickling Joe's skin. He felt Caspar smirk as he giggled. In a sudden and swift motion, there was a knee digging into his chest, effectively holding him down, and teeth vigorously biting on his skin. He gasped in surprise, then reached up to grab Caspar's arms to grope and squeeze. He felt a smile against his neck before the teeth clenched harder, and suddenly, sucking and licking were involved. There was a low resounding growl. It felt as if Caspar were French kissing his neck, and Joe laughed at the image. Caspar's hand came down to settle on Joe's shoulders, completely and utterly pinning him to the bed, leaving him vulnerable to Caspar's bidding. Joe could feel Caspar swing himself up in the darkness, until he was completely parallel to Joe's body, his back arching down as Caspar continued rending Joe's neck. Caspar's palms slowly found its way to the V-neck, and even slower began the task of tearing it in two. Joe relished in the sensation of cloth tearing against his skin, and even more as Caspar's hands make direct contact with his skin. The biting became hard enough to draw blood, and Joe would swear that he could feel some trickling down, but he didn't care, too caught up in the moment, like he should be.

Because there was no time for questions. There was only enough time to live, and live the way you want to.

Plus, there's always fun things to do with you're time in the dark. ;)
