Siera wore a thick red sweater, given to her last Christmas by Mrs. Weasley, over her most comfortable pair of jeans and warm boots. Her head was tucked into a red and pink striped hat and she had a matching scarf around her neck. It was cold and the ground was covered in a few inches of fluffy snow.
Soon enough everyone would be making their way towards Hogsmeade. George would be meeting her soon, and she found herself feeling strangely nervous. She ran her fingers over the smooth wood of her wand that was stored in her pocket and watched the falling snow, trying to distract herself from her own thoughts.
The Professors finished making their announcements and the group began to walk away. Siera made a face at their retreating forms and crossed her arms. Where was he?
Just when she'd decided to walk by herself she heard someone yelling her name.
She turned to see George waving at her like a mad man. "Siera, wait for me!" He was also wearing a sweater his mum had knitted, under a thicker brown coat and Siera smiled as she took in his appearance. It had been a while since she saw him without his robes, and the green of the sweater combined with the stark white of the snowy day made his hair a vibrant shade of orange.
Siera couldn't help but grin, her ire at his lateness already forgotten, "Hurry up then!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming." He finally reached her and she took off toward Hogsmeade.
"We're way behind everyone else, what were you doing?"
"I had to go back, I forgot my coin purse." His legs were bent and he rest his hands on his knees as he tried to get his breath. "Did you wait long?"
"Not too long... But now you owe me a butterbeer too"
"Your wish is my command. Anything else, your highness?"
She balled her fists and puffed her chest out, walking towards him,"Do you want to die today?"
"No, no, please. I'm too young." He pretended to cower.
"Hmph," Siera crossed her arms and started walking towards Hogsmeade, expecting George to follow.
As they walked in companionable silence Siera looked out at the scenery, "It's really pretty today, look at how majestic the castle looks in the middle of a snowstorm."
George glanced towards the castle then back towards her, smiling fondly. "You're good at that."
"What?"
"Making people appreciate the little things."
Siera rolled her eyes, "You're just trying to flatter me so I won't be mad anymore."
"Did it work?"
"Maybe," She peeked up at him and then away, "so what do you want to do first?"
"How about we go to The Three Broomsticks, so I can pay off at least one of my debts today."
Siera agreed and they continued their walk. Just outside of town Siera stopped as she had the best idea.
"Hold on, gotta tie my shoe," Siera said and bent down. George walked a few steps ahead and then turned to face her, watching as she tied her shoe. "Wow, what is that over there?" She pointed behind him.
He followed her finger and she used the distraction to make a quick snowball and throw it at the back of his head, it made a satisfying thwack and she jumped up with a cheer.
"Got you!"
He turned slowly, his eyes narrowed as he stared at her. She stuck her tongue out at him and with a cackle took off running.
