- Hey Frey! Wait you little cheater!!
I scream to my brother when his dark green jacket disappears behind some trees.
"Running in the woods with him was a bad idea. Why did I have to say yes when he asked? Next time he asks he have to agree not to use his powers. Having a brother who can control the nature is no fun running in the woods with. That bastard really likes to annoy me with it. I can't help that I don't have my powers yet."
I'm not mad at him. Why do you think that?
- Come on Freya!
Frey screams at me, when I look at him his hazelnut brown eyes shimmers with joy and the smile, he has on his face can be compared to the sun, warm and no matter how much you want to hate him, you can't when he gives you that smile.
- If you stop and daydream all the time, then it's no surprise that I win every time.
Frey teases as he walks over to me. I smirk and shake my head.
- Are you trying to be like Prince Loki brother? Cause he is always using his silver tongue when he has gotten into trouble. Or that's what I have been told, I haven't meet him nor anyone from Asgard. You run away from me even when I screamed to you to stop, no wonder that you are winning when you ignore me. What if I was in trouble?
- Well, if you were indeed in trouble. Then you wouldn't have screamed that I was a cheater.
- Ha! I got you to confess that you did ignore me.
- You got me. What do you say. Shall we go home you so can take a shower? You stink.
- A shower would be nice. But no more trickery with your powers on the way home. I don't want to look like something that belongs in the woods. I'm completely fine with that I stink, I don't need to look more out of place than I am.
- Alright, no use of magic on the way home. Come now.
Frey says as he walks past me, and I follow him out of the forest.
We have been running in the forest the whole afternoon because Frey had made a deal with one of his weird friends that if he could run faster than me, then his friend would do something. Frey wouldn't tell me what his friend was supposed to do. But Frey is faster than me, I mean come on. We are in the bloody woods. He can just tell the trees to grow thicker behind him and thinner in front of him. Making it harder for me to run past him. If he hadn't used his powers, then I would have been faster than him. And he knows that. He just won't admit it.
- Freya are you even listening to me?
Frey asks as he slaps me on my shoulder, jerking me back from my thoughts again.
We are almost home at this point and he has been talking none stop since we left the forest, so I choose to stop listen to him and think about my future instead. I guess I should have paid attention to him after all.
- Of course, I do Frey.
I answer smiling to him.
"What did he say?"
Frey gives me a questioned look before he shakes his head and smile back to me. Then he starts to talk again.
"How can he talk so much? Doesn't he understand that I rather want to think about the Oracle and if I may be alive for his 19:th birthday? I only has this week left before I have to be..."
"No Freya! You promised yourself not to think about that."
"Sometimes it's very hard not to think about it. I am 16 after all and I don't want to be executed by the government just because the Oracle hasn't given me my powers yet. Who came up with that rule even? If you don't have your powers by the age of 16, we will have executed you. We're so sorry, but that's the rules here in Nivedy."
