THE FUN BEGINS
True to his words, Dad woke me up early in the morning to help Ciara with the preparations.
Since she chose me as the maid of honour, I thought I should start taking things more seriously. After all I had to plan everything.
It was really time consuming but 2 hours later I had gone over each and every detail with Ciara, from the theme of the bridal shower to the very last event. I had jotted down everything in black on my planner.
Although every time she mentioned the name 'Christopher' my heart skipped a beat but I shurgged that thought away telling myself that I was obviously getting too paranoid about things.
So far, I only had to take care of the main events and not the petty details as Ciara said she had already hired a wedding planner who would be here tomorrow.
The invitations had already been sent to a few friends but mostly relatives. She wanted things to be fancy, not grand.
Christopher, his brother and Laura were also flying in tomorrow, so all in all, tomorrow would be a pretty long day.
I got so caught up in getting all the things written down that when I over heard the girls talking about dresses, a gasp escaped my lips and I suddenly started freaking about getting a dress of my own to wear to each and every event but Ciara calmed me down saying,
"All the dresses are pre ordered and ready. Mom will bring them along with her tomorrow"
A part of me was relieved upon hearing that but deep inside I feared the dress would be a size too small.
***********
The first thing or I should rather say the first face I was greeted by in the morning made me want to shrivel up inside a hole.
A woman who looked like she was in her late 30's stood at the front door.
She looked like the prison warden from hell. She had her hair pinned back into a bun so tight that I was sure it was cutting her circulation. She wore a grey suit with heels and had a nasty mole on her face staring right back at you. Even if you wanted to be polite you couldn't stop yourself from staring right at it.
"I'm Anna Schmidt, please to meet you. I'm the wedding planner for Miss Ciara Ross' wedding" she spoke, her voice laced with authority as she shook and squeased my hand a little harder than necessary with her face completely void of any expressions.
She looked anything but a wedding planner and I didn't feel guilty for making all those judgements about her earlier.
I gave her a wry smile and decided to let her in before she killed me with her eyes.
"Please make yourself comfortable, I'll find Ciara and let her know you're here" I told her and was relieved to get away from her intimidating looks.
Boy did Ciara know how to choose people.
I found her lounging in her old room reading a bridal magazine.
"Your warden from hell- I mean the wedding planner is here" I announced smirking.
She rolled her eyes at me. "Be nice to her! She may be scary looking but atleast she's proffessional. Actually the best in the whole state." she said as a matter of fact.
"Gee I hope she didn't scare the guests into thinking she was the best" We both started laughing at my remark.
Ciara left me alone in the room to meet Anna downstairs so I decided to check what was next on the agenda.
