Chapter 21

Kashayla's POV 
" Okay I took it." Kourtney said as she handed me back my phone.
  " Damn do I always look this mean?" I laughed as I looked at the pictures she took for me.
  " Are you serious? You always look like something is stuck up your ass." She answered rolling her eyes.
" Aw thanks , I can't be out here looking to friendly. I don't want random niggas thinking they can approach me cause I'm smiling at every damn body." I responded making her laugh and shake her head. I shrugged my shoulders and posted one of the pictures I'd just taken on Instagram. We were currently waiting outside these people's house for August. I'd texted him the address earlier so now we were just waiting for him to pull up before we went inside. At first he was a little skeptical especially with the fans and everything but I eventually got him to agree. From the outside there house looked super nice. It wasn't way to big but it was no where near small. I'm just hoping there's some good food at this joint cause I tried not to eat this morning so I would actually want to eat the cooking here. Feeling my phone vibrate I looked down at the text from August telling me he was parking. I applied a little bit more lip gloss and pulled up my jeans waiting for him to walk around to where we were standing. He finally made his way over to us looking handsome as usual. Not just saying it because he's my boyfriend but he really knows how to dress. He's a pretty dab young man.
  " Well don't you look handsome." I smiled as he engulfed me in a hug. He was wearing whatever cologne it was that I loved the most. We pulled back from our hug and I took it upon myself to go ahead and introduce him to my sister. She was just getting off the phone when she noticed he was here.
  " Kourtney as you already know this is August , August this is my little sister Kourtney." I explained.
  " Nice to meet cha Kourtney." He said shaking her hand.
  " Nice to finally meet the literally famous August Alsina." She smiled shaking his hand.
  " Well now that the introductions are out the way are y'all ready to head inside ?" I asked walking towards the entrance of the house.
  " Uh yea let me call Curtis so he can let us in." Kourtney said dialing his number. Once they got off the phone it took about 30 seconds for someone to open the door. I didn't know who it was but I was guessing it was one of his cousins or something. He looked to young to be the dad but to old to be the little brother Kourtney told me about.
  " Curtis !!" Kourtney exclaimed as she hugged the dude. I looked back at August as he looked at me trying to hide his laugh. Before I could say anything I was cut off by Kourtney introducing us.
  " Curtis this is my older sister Kashayla and her boyfriend August." She said smiling from ear to ear. Her boyfriend extended his hand for me to shake as I hesitantly shook it.
  " Its nice to meet you Kashayla and you to August I really rock with your music bro." He said shaking August's hand too.
  " Thank you man , I appreciate that." Aug said smiling at me. He could tell I was a little uncomfortable.
  " Well everyone's in the backyard talking. We're still waiting on a few more guests to arrive and then we can eat. But until then feel free to make yourselves at home and if you need anything let me know." Curtis said leading us to the back. As he got ahead of us I pulled Kourtney back because something wasn't adding up.
  " Kourtney how old is your boyfriend?" I whispered . I know for a fact this nigga not 18 like her.
  " Does it really matter Kashayla damn." She said rolling her eyes.
  " Yes it fucking matters Kourtney how old is the nigga."
   " 23 ." She answered plainly. Speeding up her walk and catching up with Curtis. I couldn't believe this.
  "August did you hear that?" I asked turning around to him.
  " Hear what ?" He asked laughing at some video he was watching on his phone.
  " Her boyfriend is 23 years old." I explained to him.
  "  Welp this y'all business not mine." He laughed looking at me.
  " It's not funny August." I frowned at him.
  " Its not funny August." He mocked me. " I don't know what you want me to do about the situation I'm not y'all daddy. Well I'm yours but I can't control yo lil sister." He laughed again. All I could do was roll my eyes cause he was right. I don't know what he could do about it.
  " Just see how this plays out and if it continues to bother you that much say something to him about it." August said pulling me into him. I just nodded my head and continued to head towards their backyard. Once we got out there everything thing was nicely set up as expected. Tables and chairs were laid out there family was scattered all throughout the backyard talking and laughing, just having a good time. I once again felt a little uncomfortable because I didn't know anyone. Curtis and Kourtney made their way over to us to let us know it was time to eat. We got out food and found a empty table. Sadly Curtis and Kourtney wanted to sit with us so I was forced to converse with this grown ass nigga. I can't believe her boyfriend is 3 years older than me ! I learned that he actually still lived here with his mom and was currently unemployed. A grown ass 23 year old living with his parents and no job ! TURN OFF.
The more we talked the less I was liking this nigga. As far as I'm concerned he has nothing going for himself and defiantly nothing to offer for my sister.  Under the table Aug kept touching my thigh every time Curtis said some stupid shit. August was really enjoying this.
  " Curtis what made you go after my sister?" I asked faking a smile.
  " Well she's young , fine as hell, and carries herself well. I can't seem to find a girl my age that has the same qualities as your little sister. Nobody accepts me for who I am." He answered. The whole time I'm thinking who would want a broke ass nigga still living with his mom. I nodded and took a sip of my tea.
  " Once y'all get done eating I wanna introduce y'all to my parents and my little brother and sister if that's good with y'all." Curtis said breaking the silence.
  " Yea that's fine with us." I said as I finished the last bit of my taco. I had to admit the only good thing so far about this was the food. It was bomb. I noticed half of their family was Puerto Rican and the other half is black. Once I got done eating me and Aug threw away our plates and followed Curtis over to a lady. She was on the Puerto Rican side of the family. Behind her stood a black man and a mixed girl who looked around 15 or 16.
  " Guys I'd like for you to meet my girlfriend Kourtney her sister Kashayla and her sisters boyfriend August." He said introducing us. I smiled at everyone as they hugged me.
  " Hi I'm Curtis's mom Sophia , this is my husband Robert and my daughter Nessa." She said.  She had a really heavy accent but her words were still understandable.
  " Curtis where is your brother?" She asked looking around. Curtis started looking around to until I guess he saw the person he was looking for.
  " Ah there he is. He's walking this way." Curtis informed everybody. I couldn't believe my eyes. Outta everybody in the world that could've been his brother it was him.
  " Everyone this is my little brother Ernesto. Ernesto this is my girlfriend, her sister, and her sisters boyfriend." Curtis said introducing us but there was no need honestly. Me and Aug knew exactly who he was and he knew us too judging by the smirk that appeared on his face.
  " My name is Kourtney and this is Kashayla and August." Kourtney said eyeing Curtis for not introducing us properly.
  " Oh I know who they are." Ernesto laughed.
