The cellphone vibrates me awake. I reach for it holding the bright screen to my squinting face, and set it for twenty minutes later. I hate mornings. Nothing is worse than leaving my warm, cozy bed at none other than five in the morning.
Rays of beaming sunlight blared through my window. My eyes open again, I know they must stay open this time. I groaned sitting up, rubbing my eyes and stretching my back along with my arms.
I lazily dragged my body out of bed to begin preparing for the first day of senior year of high school, as some people may call it. But to me it was just another year of pure hell. Why would I be excited to go see the same shitty people in the same damn school who don't give a shit about my well being.
I walked to the bathroom flicked on the light switch and stood in front of the mirror, staring back at my own reflection, I grabbed my toothbrush and began to a white and sparkling perfection.
I took a simple glance at the clock and began to quicken my pace. I have a perfect attendance record and I was not about to break it. I quickly undressed out of my oversize black t-shirt and white lace panties while entering the warm shower.
Once I was done with my quick shower, I walked out of the room with a white fluffy towel wrapped around my still sort of wet body.
I walked towards my walk-in closet and stood there wondering what I should wear. I decided to go with a turquoise sweater that brought out the blue pigment in my eyes and ripped skinny jeans along with my new pair of white vans
I placed my hair up into a high pony tail with a little tiny braid on the side because I didn't feel like actually putting enough effort to curl or straighten my hair. This was as good as it was gonna get.
I unplugged my phone from the charging plug, grabbed my new black school bag and headed out the door and made my way downstairs to get some breakfast.
"Hey sweetie" my mom said kissing my forehead
I smiled " morning"
"Honey, could you go upstairs really quick and wake up your brother. He needs to get ready"
I nodded my head and ran upstairs. His room was right next to mine. I tip-toe inside his room while taking out my phone and putting on this app where it makes a really loud beep sound and placed it fairly close to his ear. He is gonna hate me for this. I shut my eyes and clicked on the button. He screamed out in terror with his eyes so wide I thought they were gonna pop out of its socket, he rolled over falling onto the floor. I nearly fell to the floor with him laughing. That definitely woke him up.
"Good morning!!!!" I sang "you can't be late on your first day of middle school" I said tapping his head and running out the room before he comes and tackles me on the floor. He is only eleven years old but the kid is strong.
I ran downstairs laughing like a total maniac, I was almost completely down the stairs when suddenly I tripped over the second to last step sending myself flying, landing with a huge thump. I groaned at the impact and turned my head slightly to see my little brother Ricky laughing and pointing at me while sticking out his tongue. I shot him a playful glare and picked myself up, dusting off my clothes and walking towards the kitchen to finally eat my breakfast.
"Did you wake him up?" My mom asked as she cut an apple in half
I giggled and nodded my head "yep, I sure did"
