I woke up covered in a blanket, with no James but instead, Luna staring at me over the rim of a coffee cup. "Confess" she said and took a deep gulp. I raised one of my eyebrows at her "For what father should I be confessing for?" I asked and snuggled deeper into the blanket; she set her cup down on the counter. "You know what for" She said in a dark voice as I replayed everything I did yesterday and find nothing. "Actually I know nothing, care to explain?" I asked and she tossed her phone at me.

From Unknown:

Hey it's Jen ;)

I laughed and placed it back on the couch before wrapping Luna up in a bear hug, "my baby girl is growing up" I let Luna go and she stared at me, "AJ and James said the same thing this morning" I laughed a little more and looked around the room seeing no James or AJ. "Where are the hooligans anyway?" I asked and flung the blanket off my shoulders and onto the couch, "Their own dorm rooms for once" she laughed and picked her coffee back up and taking a sip.

I go to make a cup of coffee for myself but Luna stopped me, "What about James?" she asked with an eyebrow wiggle and I rolled my eyes "Would you shut up about that?" I ask and walked away towards the bathroom since I can't get a cup of coffee without being harassed. I locked myself in the bathroom and go get ready for a shower.

The shower was like a sip of water after a long walk in the desert, beautiful. I felt the chlorine muckiness wash away and I enjoyed not smelling like ass. I brushed my teeth and hair but walk out to a scene I thought I'd never see. Luna bent over, texting on her phone, giggling like a school girl. "Are you texting Jen?" I asked with a teasing tone, tightening my hold on my towel; I rummaged through my closet and when I found decent clothes I walked back into the bathroom. I emerged again from the bathroom and Luna was still giggling away at her phone. "HELLO!" I shouted and Luna jumped and grabbed her chest, "HI! What the hell Mar?" she shouted and I couldn't even try to stifle my laughter. I pulled my hair into a bun and watched as the multicolor-haired midget texted away while blushing and giggling. "You look ridiculous" I said, lying back in my bed staring at the ceiling. I turned to look at my clock and muttered "Orientation in an hour." Luna flopped back on her bed and squealed into a pillow, "ARE YOU SERIOUS?"

Luna got up off of her bed and dragged herself into the bathroom looking quiet pissed. I whipped my phone out and scrolled through my feed. I got bored after maybe two seconds of being alone so I decided to be a creep and stare out my window down at the people below me. I watched the strange people go by, wondering if I'll befriend any this year or if any of them are in my classes and what not. I stare until I saw a familiar shape walking towards the building entrance, the mop of brown hair and worn out converse are hard to miss. I felt a twinge in my stomach but I dismissed it immediately for the thought that. Hey look now I won't be so bored now! I rolled off my bed and sat on the couch, watched TV, and waited for this dork to get his ass up here because I'm bored.

I heard a couple knocks and I replied "It's open". James walked in looking half dead, and flopped down next to me before laying his head in my lap. "You look like shit." But James only groans at my quip and I decided then that something was really wrong. "Hey, w-what's wrong" I asked and James turned his head to face me, his lip was split with a bruise blooming on his cheek, "you remember those dickwads who chased us because I socked one in the nose?" he asked and I nodded, and I could feel the lump in my throat get a little bigger. James sat up slowly and removed his shirt, his torso was littered with scrapes and cuts but the giant bruises that were just starting to show are what caught my attention, "I guess I didn't run fast enough this time" he chuckled darkly, "how the hell did this happen?" I asked ghosting my hand over the bruise on his shoulder. "Frat boys have to come down this hill every once and a while I guess." He said, placing his head in his hands, I got up from the couch and tugged James along with me. I walked over to the kitchen and patted the counter island; James slowly hopped up with a hiss of pain. I walked over to the bathroom to find the door locked, "Lu open the door" I said knocking several times. "You already took a shower if you have to pee go downstairs and use the public ones!" she called back and I knocked on the door louder, "I don't need to piss Lu, I need the first aid kit dumbass now unlock the damn door!" I shouted back and I heard James chuckle from the kitchen. I heard some sounds of struggle but when I heard the tumbler click in the door I pulled the handle and went straight for the medicine cabinet over the sink. I found the small red box and I took it out back to the kitchen and set it down next to James. I turned him to his side, and lightly brushed the little bits of rock and gravel that littered his cuts and back. I pulled out little alcohol wipes and ripped open a package. I pulled the little wipe out and ran it over all the cuts in his back, "Gravel is hell huh?" I joked but James just sighed, "No shit." I bandaged the worse cuts out of the bunch, one had been still bleeding. "What the hell did they do?" I asked and James shrugged, "I think one of them hand a ring? It was mostly the gravel that screwed me over."
