Bowling soon became a competition of which team could get the most points but we had to pause so I could pick up the pizza... then paused longer to eat it. The other patrons were older and clearly drunk off of their asses so I was happy when Chrissy joined us, as was Adam. I introduced everyone and she took a seat at our table and we were all more than happy. We learned she was also a Vet student and I was ecstatic to hear it. She went to our college and she worked at the bowling alley during the summer to rack up some cash for new clothes because hers were mostly male, something a little neutral or sweats and she 'just wanted a damn dress she could pull off'. Lu and I offered to take her shopping and she was unsure at first but agreed to it. Someone had complained that they were thirsty so I walked back over to the counter and asked the new person there if I could get a couple of pitchers of soda and when they went into the back room that's when a couple of guys walked over.
"Hey sweet cheeks, ho' you do'n" one of them said with a heavy slur and I scooted closer to the counter, "Aw, shithead ya done scared 'er. Don' be 'fraid girlie, he jus' wan's a piece of dat sweet ass" the other said and I wanted to run but there was nowhere for me to go, they hand swayed in and cornered me against the bar. "C'mon girlie let us have a piece of chu" he said, I shut my eyes and turned my head away and I wanted to scream. James, Adam... AJ... Benny anyone come help! Please! "You wanna back the hell up?" a familiar voice said, I opened my eyes to see James standing in front of me, "What do you think your drunk asses are doing?" another voice said and I turned to see AJ approaching, with Adam in tow, "Who gave you permission to talk to our sweet little friend here?" Adam said and I was surprised at how serious they all were. AJ grabbed one of the guys by the shoulder and yanked him back. Adam on the other hand just stepped in front of the other one, hand on their chest, and shoved him into the front desk. "C'mon, let's go back to playing." James said, and guided me back to the table. "They didn't touch you did they?" he asked, sitting me down in the chair, I shook my head but James insisted, "Are you sure? Never even laid a hand on you?" but I shook my head again, "No!" James nodded and walked back over to the bar placing a pitcher on the table as AJ brought the other one over too. Adam followed and sat down in the chair next to Chrissy. "Hey are you okay?" Jen asked and I nodded, "guys I'm fine can we just finish the game and get going?" I said and everyone silently agreed and it was all okay again.
Chrissy took a little nap as we continued the game, with Adam's leather jacket draped over her. I tugged my red flannel off, leaving my black v-neck to show because of how hot it was quickly getting. When we finished off our last game, the homos (as they declared their team name was), beat us buy about 80 points. I woke Chrissy up and she gave me a small smile, "Hey there, we finished up so I thought I should wake you." I whispered and she rubbed her eyes, "Thanks, um I was wondering if I could ride back with you guys... I um... don't have a car... and I think the buses are done for the night..." she said, looking away and I shrugged, "Yea sure, you can ride with me." I said with a bright smile, and walked over to Adam. "Hey, ride with us back and have AJ and Benny ride with the girls." I said, giving him a nudge and a wink before walking back over to Chrissy. I pulled on my flannel and rolled the sleeves back up. I put my shoes back on the counter and waited for everyone else to finish switching back to their normal shoes and got ready to leave. I chatted with Chrissy about the nonsense of the school year and how much stress everyone would have. "C'mon you two, we're leaving" James called and both Chrissy and I followed him and the others out. "You really don't mind driving me?" Chrissy asked James and he shook it off; "its fine, we're all going the same place anyway" Chrissy only nodded and got into the back seat. I got into the passenger seat and watched as Adam climbed into the Jeep.
"So what dorm are you in?" Adam asked and Chrissy just smiled, "Dorm A, it's like the first building on the left side." Adam nodded and silence filled the car. James kept looking in the rearview mirror and I knew it wasn't because of any cars behind us. "So um, Chrissy... Would you like to chill with us as we conclude our last movie night?" James asked and Chrissy just hunkered up, "I-I don't want to intrude..." she said quietly and Adam worked magic I didn't think he had. "We'll if it makes you feel better, I've made more of an intrusion than you ever could and it'll be my first time being held up in their dorm to watch movies too so, easy peasy. Right Mar?" he said and I laughed "Yea I'm lucky you haven't broken anything." James flipped on the radio and I was glad for some noise. "So do you wanna come?" I asked, turning around in my seat to look at Chrissy behind me. "I-I guess so..." she replied and I smiled before turning back around, "Oh and earlier you said you guys were a 'mixed drink of sexualities' can I ask what that means...?" Chrissy asked and I laughed. "Well, we have 2 homosexuals, 2 pansexuals, a bisexual, a demisexual..." I trailed off and James filled it in, "Amber is bisexual too and then... wait who's the demisexual?" he asked and I went quiet. "OH MY GOD IT'S YOU!" Adam shouted and I turned around in my seat, "I will sock you in your god damn mouth! Shut your face!" I said and Adam raised his hands up, "Yea ok, forget I said anything." He said and I rolled my eyes, "so, two bisexuals and..." I trailed off again and James sighed, "A straight guy. I'm the boring one..." he said and I laughed, "You make up for it with um... a great personality?" I said teasingly and James glanced in my direction, "hardy har, kiss my ass" he said and I laughed, "No you'd only be the boring straight guy if you were bigoted too... and well, I at least know you're not." I said and James' reaction made me laugh, "WOW THANKS. I just needed to punch a guy then get my asked kicked to prove myself worthy I see how it is." "Is that why your face looks like that?" Chrissy asked and James laughed, "No this is my beautiful face au natural... but yea I got my ass kicked... But I have my very own personal doctor here so it's all good."
