I woke up to blaring 'beeps' next to my head. I pulled my blankets back up to my nose snuggling deeper into the comforter. "Nuh uh, Wake up bitch. Hell does not wait up" Lu's voice was shrill in my groggy mind. "5 more minutes" I moaned, turning to bury my face into the pillow. My body was suddenly ice cold when Lu stole my blanket sanctuary. "Hey! Come on Luna, it's freezing in here! Give 'em back!" I said, slightly shivering. "Its 78 degrees in here, how in the hell are you that cold?" I shrugged my shoulders and padded my way to the bathroom. My shower was warm and beautiful, but coming out of it was like trying to have 5 buckets of ice poured on you without shivering. "You're a furnace" Lu stated as I brushed past her trying to get a cup of coffee and a pop tart before my first class. I placed my empty mug on the counter and gave her a very serious eyebrow, "what the hell is that supposed to mean?" I asked, hand on my hip. "It means you are hot... temperature wise" she said and I gave a quick snicker, "It's just a body thing, now just let me get my coffee" I stated reaching for my mug, "Nuh uh, you go make your face okay and I'll get you your coffee" she said with a smile that I shouldn't have blown off. "Fine whatever" I said back, heading towards the bathroom again.
When I came back out, Lu was gone. I hopped over to the counter only to find the coffee pot empty. My cup was empty too. Looking at the clock and realizing I had about 25 minutes to get to class, I decided that I would grab some on the way. I threw the textbooks and note books I would need into my bag before grabbing it and my phone and heading out the door. I noticed they were working on the elevator on my way out as I slammed my shoulder into the stair well door to open it. One thought crossed me as my body didn't even budge the door a little. It's a damn pull door. I yanked the door open, not yet feeling the shame of being stupid, and rushed down the stairs. AJ was chilling out in the lounge by the lobby as I raced out the door, we shared quick 'hello's before I was gone. It was a few minutes before I located the on campus coffee shop and by then I realized I would have to sprint to class. I was bouncing from foot to foot in line, hoping the three people in front of me would just go away. It was three long minutes before I was handed my coffee and I was heading out the door. I can make it... I can make it! I told myself, one hand over my coffee so it didn't spill. I was almost to the science building, I was so close. But someone behind me groaned in pain and I had to turn around. A girl behind me tripped, her coffee was all over the sidewalk and she was quickly trying to shove her textbooks back into her bag. I placed my coffee down on the ground and helped her with her assortment of things. Once she was all packed she gave me a series of thank yous before rushing into the science building.
I picked my coffee back up and followed. I entered my classroom before the professor, thankfully, and searched for a seat. It wasn't long before I spotted a familiar blond in the third row, waving their hands around. I headed over and sat down next to Chris. Chris had asked me a question but I couldn't hear it over my excitement to drink my coffee. It was smooth and creamy, but Chris' laughter brought me away. "What" I asked but Chris only laughed louder, "I said, how are you doing but I guess I know now" I glanced to check for bracelet, only to find a bracelet decorated with simple dark blue beads. Chris was decked out nicely. A lot better than the couple of people in their pajamas. The dark grey flannel and black skinny jeans with black combat boots gave me an idea of what the bracelet meant. "It's 'he' right? Purple is she, and this one is he?" I asked quickly pointing to the bracelet. Chris nodded and let out a small chuckle "Yea, or sometimes I just won't wear one... because... ya know... already have a dick" he chuckled and my coffee almost made it out my nose. I lightly smacked him on the arm and mentally decided I liked this Chris more. He wasn't scared, he was more confident. It also made me sad, that he felt he couldn't always be like this.
