it's the time of day that's hard to leave behind
it's in between night and morning,
the sky is candy
luminous
spring blossoming in the air
but it's still winter
it's waking up to check the time
because i'm scared of what might happen
and knowing if that will be sooner or later keeps my heart safer
when the newborn breaths and the colour palette of a new day invites itself
like sugar in coffee
into my room
and kisses my bare face
i still do not taste sweet
i am just swept into the breeze
i don't know what to do at this time
it's hard to leave behind
