she is awake at 3am and she reminds me
of when i used to whisper theories about the universe
until i finally felt like i could speak louder she
is the moment you realize you have matter from explosions
inside your body
and she is
the light outside your bedroom window
convincing you that
you are safe
i've always wondered what happens when we sleep
and she is the one who knows the answer
and she
will always remember—
you are worthy of being told secrets she
tells you that oceans move from one shore to another
and that hearts get broken
in a way so pretty they never want to be healed she
is telling you what happens when we sleep but
she is so tired and she
never gets to dream she never gets to feel
heaven inside of her mind
because she is awake she is awake she is crying but she is awake and she is awake for you and she is awake for the world and
we don't know because
we are all sleeping
