~Austin~
Speeding out of the parking lot, I thought I would surprise Lydia. A grin flew one my face, seconds later being replaced with a frown. What was I going to do? Sure being closer to her would make watching her easier, but I can't get to attached.
I sigh knowing the complications would end up killing me. I park on the side of the street, better let her have the driveway, I was snickering. What's happening? Since when did I become so soft?
Sitting in my car, waiting for her made me nervous. Will she be mad, maybe even happy? Well I guess I was going to find out. She pulled into the driveway. I slide out of the car, closing the door and leaning against the car.
I held in a laugh, her facial expressions always made me laugh, but today it was different. "Keep calm , keep calm." I mumble to myself. She looks sick, making it even harder to hold my laugh in.
"Hey." I finally said. She looked like she wasn't going to talk, so I guess I had to make the first move.
She's not saying anything, what do I do? "Oh ah what's up?" She looks down at her shoes, nervously.
Staring at her the whole time, I noticed she was playing with the hem of her shirt. She's wearing a plain pink shirt, with skinny jeans and chucks. Her plain clothes suit her. She doesn't have to try to be perfect like all the other girls.
Natural beauty, no one can compete with that. I walked towards her closing the gap between us. I'm usually careful, but I need her full attention especially if I was going to say this.
I forcefully, but gently place my hand under her chin, lifting her head so I could see her eyes. "I was wondering if you would like to hang out sometime?" Her eyes mirrored mine. I released her chin, breaking our gaze.
I have to keep her near me, especially now. It's only a matter of time before Syphans find us and I need her trust, in order for her to survive.
Looking down at her. Her face giving her away all the time shows disbelief. Why?! Why can't she see? She's incredible and here I am trying to ask her out.
Her mouth opens and quickly closes. Oh how annoyed I feel right now. She's tormenting me.
"I... I.... I... Don't... Um.. Know." She seems confused, but why would she? I mean I just asked to hang out, I'm nothing special to freak about.
"Well that's fine. I understand." I completely do. She doesn't want anything to do with me. Freak came to my mind. I more than likely seem like one.
I was walking away. "Wait, no I didn't mean it like that. " sincerity filled her voice. Looking in her direction, she starts walking towards me, but trips on her own two feet. Before she could even fall to the concrete, I caught her.
Lydia William, in my arms. I could feel her heart beating faster, as I smiled down at her. "Oh gosh, I'm such a klutz. I'm so SORRY!" She blushed, scarlet red, while I released her.
I chuckled at her. She was apologizing over something she couldn't control. "No worries." This girl was something I really have been missing in my life, I know that now.
She seems dazed. Her eyes were glistening like diamonds. She was trying to catch her breath, but trying to hide the obvious. "What were we talking about before?" The question was very huffy as if she had just ran 10 miles before asking me this question.
"What you really meant." My words came out like silk.
"Oh right." She took in a huge breath and then exhaled before explaining. "Well I meant yes, but I don't exactly know if I have time, what with finals right around the corner."
Oh she's worried about finals, unlike me. I forgot she's "human" in many ways, but one. Hmm? Oh shit I know. "Well maybe we can study together then. I mean I need the notes from Mr. Hamilton's class anyways."
It sounded so funny asking her to study with me, when obviously I don't study. I don't need to that is. "Oh okay. Yeah! That would be ... GREAT!" Her face. I'm dying inside. Her face told a different story. Worry.
I bet she's thinking why the hell did I say that, stupid. Stupid. STUPID!! I couldn't help but smile, maybe even smirk a little.
Sliding my hand through my hair before responding. I couldn't stop grinning. "Well okay then." Something caught my eye. Wait not something, someone. I chuckled
"What?" Her eyebrows scrunched together causing wrinkles to appear on her pretty little forehead. She turned. "Oh." Her voice sounded frustrated . I chuckled.
"I better get going, I don't want to keep your friend waiting." I couldn't help but smile. Walking to my car door Lydia sighs.
"Wait!" A faint smile was on her face.
She ran to her car, a frown suddenly wipes her face. She sighs looking back at me.
"Well Austin, I was going to give you my number, but I forgot I don't have a pen." Her face fell slightly.
Smiling at her, I walk towards her. I whisper in her ear, "well luckily I do." She shivers a little. I can't help but wonder, making my grin widen.
I snatch her hand, feeling her pulse speed up . I wrote my number on her hand. I walk back to my car.
"Thanks for catching me." There she went with the sincerity again. I smile without looking at her. "No problem." Closing my door, the weight on my shoulders seemed to disappear. I sped away from Lydia William's house.
I looked in the rear view mirror and see her smiling before doing a cute, kinda terrible dance. That makes me happy. She makes me happy to the point where I have no clue why.
Leaving her made me anxious, but I know she's safe, for now that is. I frown knowing that there's always someone thinking about hurting her. Which makes me angry. A sigh escapes me as I sped towards the freeway.
