*I WAS FANNED!!! CELEBRATION IN ORDER!!!*
Chapter 9
Carriane POV
I stared at his back, confused at what had just happened. I just helped him from being arrested. Shaking my head, I started to head for the door, deciding my best friend could take care of herself. Loud music blasted through the bar, people dancing and grinding to the beat as they had their fun.
I sighed, wishing I could let myself go and go crazy for a night.
Then a man vomited what was left of his stomach.
My pace increased, maybe letting go wasn't the best idea anyway.
Opening the door, I was met with the cold night air. Wrapping my arms around myself, I feverishly started trying to warm myself up. Shivering, I glanced around, the lamplights only giving a dim light.
As I took in my surroundings, I came to a startling revelation, I had no way of getting home. A taxi was too expensive to take again, and I had a stunning lack of friends, so my only option was to start walking.
Squinting my eyes, I could make out the cracked sidewalk, and quickly started my journey home.
My thoughts slowly drifted towards Ashton. Why did he seem so pissed off? The look on his face as he pulled his fist back, it made me think he had planned on killing the man.
And instead of a simple thank you for stopping him from having a trip to the slammer, he practically snarls at me! And the man I helped runs away without so much as a look of gratitude! What. The. Hell.
The trip back to the mansion took longer than expected. A whopping six hours later, I finally arrived to the mansion, tired, disgruntled, and one heel broken from running away from a hobo who had a strange pension for redheads.
Trudging towards the maid entrance, a faint outline could be seen, arms crossed and a tapping foot. Walking closer, the outline started to take shape. When I could finally make out the features, I cursed in my head and quickly retreated into one of the bushes.
"What the hell is that old hag doing in the middle of the night!?" I thought furiously.
The head maid looked around irritably, huffing in disappointment. She must have been hoping on catching me coming all sexed up and drunk. But there's no way in hell I'm losing this job because some crone has it out for me.
Taking off what's left of my poor heels, I stealthily crawled out of the bushes, grabbing a rock to use as a distraction. Pulling my arm back, I threw the rock as hard as I could.
It sailed through the air, and crashed through one of the glass windows, the alarm was set off immediately, wailing noises slicing through the night. The crone jerked her head towards the houses, rushing towards the window. I made my move, rushing toward the maid entrance.
I yanked the door open and catapulted myself in, shutting the door with a slam, praying the alarm covered the noise.
Racing to my room, I looked around wildly, to see if any maids had come at of their room, thankfully they were probably too tired to care about what's going on. Inside the room I hurriedly tore off all my clothes, throwing them underneath the bed.
Hearing the crone's heels clacking towards my room, I dove underneath my covers, pulling the sheet over me. The door opened, and I began to snore loudly.
Grumbling in disappointment, she closed my door with a loud bang.
I peeked through my cover, listening for any other noises. Satisfied, I snuggled into my bed; hugging my pillow, I began to slowly drift off to sleep. At least, until the alarm went off.
Groaning, I glanced at the clock, and realized it was time for work.
Just. Why.
*Soooooooo........ Haven't quite written in a while, but decided, what the hell, at least post SOMETHING. So hopefully this will be read and liked. And I'm sleepy*
