Part 12

I went and sat up on the old bench at the top of the hill overlooking the town. I used to always come up hear after school with my guitar and write songs and Ryan would join me and bring Oreos and we'd just sit and talk for hours!

I looked out over the town, I'd been gone for 3 years but it was still the same. It was almost summer so the hill was full of pink petals from the blossom trees! This was deffinetly my favourite place to be! I'd always had this fantasy in my head that one day prince charming would walk up the hill with me and propose under the blossom trees and then we would get married and run off to New York for our honey moon and live happily ever after. But some things are too good to be true. Like Joel!

I couldn't help but think of him and what I had done with Ryan. Before I knew it I burst out into tears. I curled my up on the bench hugging my legs trying to stay warm! I was only wearing shorts a baggy top along with Ryans jacket and it was freezing outside, typical English weather. It was quiet though, which gave me time to think.

But the silence was broken by a snap of a twig. I jumped up and turned round to see a tall figure behind me. It was only Joel. This time I didn't run, I knew I had to deal with this sometime.

"Emily just listen to me, please." he begged. I didn't say anything but just nodded my head. He sat down beside me before he began. "I'm so sorry for what happened but I swear it wasn't what it looked like! She came onto me! Gina never liked competition and she saw how much all the boys took to you as a sister and she hated it so she tried to find a way to get to you! Me!" I looked at him whipping the tears that ran down my cheeks! "Please Ems, believe me!" he looked deep into my eyes, but I turned away. Andy did say how Gina was protective. I turned to face Joel, "I-I believe you!" I stuttered, Joel pulled me into him giving me a warm tight hug, but I couldn't do it! I pulled away and stood up.

"but I doesn't matter Joel! I slept with Ryan, I did something way worse then just kissing somebody else!" I could feel the tears building up in my throat! "Emily listen to me." he said grabbing my hands pulling me back down to the bench. "you were angry and weren't thinking straight! I understand! I just can't lose you, not yet!" "but.." he interupted me before I could continue, "Emily do you still like me?" "Joel.." "do you?" "Joel of course I like you, you amazing and perfect and I want to be with you!" I said trying not to let the tears come out! He smiled and I could see a tear forming in his eye, "then that's all I needed to know, can we just start fresh now? And forget everything that happened yesterday?" I nodded whilst hugging him, "now let's go back, everybodys been asking about you!" he said running his fingers through my hair.

"plus you still havn't packed for our trip to London!" oh crap! I knew there was something I'd forgotten about!
