Home, sweet, home

The ride to Pennsylvania was long and unbearably annoying.

I had to sit and listen to Bennett and Kenley discuss their snapchat conversations and potential crushes.

Kenley is stuck to her idea of
Bennett and me dating.

I do like him but not like that.

He is basically a brother to me now, so I couldn't ever date him.

I also think she is using the story of me and Bennett liking each other to cover up the fact that she likes him.

If they end up dating in the future I will literally just start smiling uncontrollably.

When we visited Gideon in Pennsylvania it was like visiting family that you never see.

The family that you don't know how you are related too because you didn't even know they existed until your parents told you about them and you actually went to see them.

It was awkward and went by really slowly.

Gideon was now becoming more of a slob and less like the sweet, innocent boy I had known him as.

He now ran around the house with no shirt on and his pants slightly sagged most of the time. He also had spent a lot of time with a miniature mt.dew bottle in hand and a paper plate with pizza on it in front of him.

If you were to look at his sophisticated, slightly hot, older brother and the large, fancy, house they lived in and then at him you would think he had been there only to be baby sat.

"Kenley, are you at all worried about Gideon and what goes on while we aren't there?" I asked.

"What?" She asked back.

"Well when we were at Gideon and his brothers new home I...I was a little worried about how Gideon is. I think there is something going on there that we don't know about because there is no way his brother can be so ... sophisticated and Gideon be a complete party animal much like a fratboy at a party."

"Dest, I think you are over thinking it cause there is no way that they could both be party animals and live in such a Kardashian place."

"Ok," I said and turned to look out the window.

I was shaken awake by Kenley because apparently I had fallen asleep.

I had opened both eyes slowly and when they fully adjusted to the flashing lights I sat up straighter.

I looked out the window there were red and blue lights with some white flashing all over the place.

I looked out my window and saw my house.

The door and Windows in the front were destroyed the inside of the house was filled with smoke as if there had been a fire.

"K-k-k," my mouth couldn't quite form the words storming around my head.

I just took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a moment.

I reached for the door handle and slowly pulled it open.

I tried walking towards my house before being stopped by a police officer.

"Hello ma'am is this you're house? We would like to let you know that whoever did this will be stopped. We will start by doing everything we can in our power to catch the criminal who did this."

I nodded my head so he knew I understood.

I swallowed and turned to face the burnt house.

They were wheeling out a gurney with someone on it. And then another and then another and then another.

'I had only three other people in my family besides me so who was the other person?'

'Is it the criminal or is it another one of 'meeche's dumb friends?'

I ran over to one of the ambulances and looked at the body that lay in front of me.

It was my mom.

I looked at her burns and they seemed not too terrible like she was gonna die, but you can tell she was near fire.

The next bed that I found was home to Demetri.

He looked terrible he was extremely burned and had slashes on his face and arms and scratches as if he was fighting.

He had a severe cut into is head and he probably would need surgery.

I started to tear and then I remember the other two people wheeled out of the crime scene.

I ran to one bed and found it was our cousin Marcus. He had been barely burned, but was covered in ask and smoke.

I then jogged over to the other bed knowing it was my step dad.

I looked down and was expecting wounds much like 'meeche's but instead I was shocked.

It wasn't my step dad it was my actual dad.

This was weird because my parents hated each other and had been divorced for about eight years.

I looked up then back down and then walked back to the car.

Bennett, his dad, and Kenley noticed me and stopped their conversation with the police to come over to me.

Their pity filled eyes burned scared into mine.

"Let's go to the hospital," I said.

We hopped into the car buckled up.

The engine was started and then we pulled away from my once homie home.
