Chapter 14
(Karlie's POV)

Today was the day. I was going to meet up with Cole. Faith and I argued all night about what I should wear. I didn't want to go overboard because it was just pizza, but she insisted that I wear the gold dress Giorgio let me keep. After two hours, she finally gave it a rest.

Of course, that didn't stop her from picking out my outfit.

After her begging and my constant pleas of picking a casual outfit, she finally settled on a blue fitted blouse with leggings and my white chucks.
I decided on leaving my hair up and not putting on makeup. I mean really, what's the point of looking nice when I'm gonna go ham on pizza?

I ran upstairs towards the door before Faith could catch me. Luke and Michael were on the couch playing FIFA. I started to make my way towards the front door.

"I'm going out." I said.

"Have fun." Michael replied, not looking away from the screen. Luke tensed up, and paused the game, earning a groan from Michael.

"Come on man, I was about to make a goal!"

"Where do you think you're going?" Luke questioned, walking towards me.

"Out."

"Out where?"

"With a friend."

"This 'friend' is?" He asked, adding air quotes.

"Cole."

"That loser of a bartender from last night?"

I snarled at him. "He's not a loser! He's really nice and we're getting pizza."

"Did you forget that you're reported as missing and someone might recognize you?"

"That's why I have a hoodie and sunglasses. Is that all?"

Luke glared at me and then rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

I smiled, satisfied, and then walked out of the door. I put on the hoodie and sunglasses and started walking to Geno's Pizzeria. It wasn't too far of a walk thankfully.

I made it there in about 4 minutes, and walked in. I saw Cole at a nearby table and sat in front of him. He was on his phone. I cleared my throat and he looked up. His eyes locked on me and he tilted his head in confusion.

"Karlie?" He asked. I smiled in response. He put down his phone and smirked.

"What's with the get up?" He asked.

"Do you not like the hoodie and sunglasses? I would've hope someone like you would appreciate fashion." I fake scoffed. He laughed as I took down the hood and took off my sunglasses.

" I hope you don't mind, I already ordered for us."

"I don't mind, I've never been here before." He gasped, staring at me with wide eyes.

"You've NEVER had Geno's?!" I shook my head.

"Well then, today you will be enlightened." I laughed.

"Good to know." I replied.

Our pizza came soon after. I grabbed a slice and looked up at Cole to see him staring at me.

"What, do I have something on my face?" He flashed me his beautiful smile.

"No. I just want to see your reaction when you eat Geno's pizza."

"Oh my god." I replied.

"You know what? I should record this."

"Please don't."

He took out his phone and pointed it towards me. "I'm recording."

I shook my head, smiling at him.

"Hello everyone. Cole Williams here! We are about to witness as Karlie eats Geno's for the first time."

"You are an actual loser." I replied. I soon took a bite and then looked at the camera and smiled.

"Do you like it?"

"Love it." I replied. He smiled and turned off the camera. We finished our pizza and conversed more before we split the bill and exited.

"The day is still young, it's only 6. Want to hit up the park?" Cole asked.

"Why not? Let's do it!" I replied. We got into Cole's car and drove to the nearby park. We walked in and started to walk around up until I saw a playground.

"OH MY GOD!" I ran towards an open swing. I heard Cole chuckle behind me and then run towards the other swing.

"I love swings." I said, looking towards him.

"I couldn't tell?" He replied, smiling as I laughed. We spent a couple of hours there, just playing on the swings and the slide. Before we knew it, it was 9.

"I should probably start heading back home. It's getting sort of late."

"Do you need a ride home?" Cole asked. I shook my head.

"I can walk, it's all good."

"Let me rephrase that—can I give you a ride home so I can have a little more time left with you?" He asked, smirking. I blushed and nodded, avoiding saying something stupid.

He drove me back to the hideout and walked me to the door.

"Today was fun." I said.

"Yeah. Hopefully it isn't the only time we hang out."

"It definitely won't be."

He smiled, and then reached down and kissed my cheek. "Night Karlie."

"Night." We hugged one last time and he walked towards his car. I opened the front door and got in, smiling to myself. I locked the door and turned around, and was scared shitless when I saw Luke standing right behind me.

"Dear God Luke, don't do that!" I screeched, hitting his chest.

"You let him give you a ride home?" He asked, not looking too amused.

"Yeah?"

"I could've picked you up."

"That's nice but I don't think that would have been necessary."

"I beg to differ. Your little friend knows where the hideout is now."

"I highly doubt he'll do anything to rat you guys out Luke."

"Whatever Settles. I don't trust that loser."

"That sucks. You're probably gonna see more of him."

"No I'm not, and neither are you."

I scoffed. "Excuse me?"

He crossed his arms. "You heard me."

"And who gave you the right to boss me around? You're not my father."

"My hideout, my rules. You're not seeing that chump again. I don't trust him. Something's fishy about him."

"Well you can have your doubts. I'm still hanging out with him and there is absolutely nothing you an do about it."

Luke rolled his eyes. "Fine. Whore around with him, I don't care. Just don't bring him around he hideout. Am I clear?"

I glared at him. "Whoring around? You think I'm a whore?"

"If the shoe fits, babe." He smirked at me.

"I can't believe you!" I screamed at him. I glared at him one last time and then stormed off to the basement.
