Chapter Five

*Emma’s p.o.v*

And of course, Jay went straight back to ignoring me again. He also got Mrs Adams to change the partners so he wouldn’t be near him. What’s his problem?

I sat at the lunch table by myself waiting for the others to arrive, Matt and Sasha soon sat down with lunch trays in hand. We settled into a comfortable conversation, our heads shot up as we were suddenly interrupted by Ava.

‘Guys guess what!’ She exclaimed dragging a brown haired boy who’s cheeks had gone slightly pink.

‘I’ve found my soul mate!’ She squealed.

Ava turned to the boy who now stood next to her. ‘Alex, this is Matt, Sasha and Emma. Guys this is my soul mate Alex.’ Ava grinned.

‘Hey, you’re in my mixed dance class.’ Alex said gaining my attention.

‘Yeah Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday mornings then Thursday and Friday Afternoon.’ I smiled.

On weekends we go out places or just hang out on campus.

Ava and Alex joined us at the table and we all ate and talked. Zach never turned up.

The bell for end off lunch rang, Alex and I had dance now. Alex gave Ava a hug and kiss goodbye before walking beside me as we made our way to the studios.

‘So you’re the girl Jay carried out of the food hall yesterday.’ Alex mentioned.

‘Err yeah I was, you friends with him?’ I asked.

‘Yeah I suppose, he’s a different guy though now than he was two years ago.’ Alex replied rubbing the back of his neck.

‘Why what happened two years ago?’ I questioned confused.

‘It’s not my place to tell.’ He shrugged.

‘So you have a soul mate?’ Alex changed the subject.

‘Yeah, but he doesn’t want me.’ I admitted.

‘Really?!’ ‘Who?’ He said interested.

I raised up my wrist and showed him.

‘Wow really, I’m sorry I wish I could help. But it’s up to Jay.’ Alex said sympathetically as we reached the doors.

We walked into the studios together, all eyes went straight to us. I could feel the familiar stare of Jay. I met his stare sending him a look. I will find out what happened two years ago.
