'If you stay on bed rest for a couple days, you should be back to dancing. You lucky you caught yourself as you fell otherwise this could have been a different story.' The doctor examines my ankle.

'It's the weekend, I'll keep you company.' Jay smiles at me.
----

Staying on strict bed rest for two days had me restless and frustrated. Jay had been a life saver bringing me food and helping me to and from the bathroom. Thankfully my confinement was now over, my ankle was much better and I had a serious bone to pick. I got dressed in my dance gear and stormed over to the studios.

Everyone in the dance show was in the studio, Ava was practising my dance with Jay.

'You tripped me on purpose, you bitch.' I shout at Ava would turns to look at me still stood next to Jay.

'Get out of here Emma everyone knows what you are.' She turns back to Jay ignoring me.

'You're a liar and you know it. If I had kissed Alex you would have been screaming as your wrist burnt. But you just stood there perfectly fine.' I argue walking towards her.

'It's my word against yours Emma, we both know who they believe.' She sneered.

'You're just jealous that I'm a better dancer than you, you always have been.' I say anger bubbling inside me.

'It's never been about soulmates for you, you just want to be the best and you'll stoop to any level to achieve what you want.' I continue.

'I bet it was you who took that "incriminating" photo, just to get what you wanted.' I conclude.

'You just can't stay out of my way can you.' She screams at me as she lunges for me.

Before she can make contact Alex has grabbed her and Jay has grabbed me.

'That is enough!' Mrs Adams yells silencing the whispers.

'All four of you in my office now!' She demands.

'Emma what's been going on? Ava don't interrupt.' Mrs Adams turns to me and I explain what happened with the "kiss" and Ava tripping me up.

'Liar you kissed Alex.' Ava protested.

'Alex did you and Emma ever kiss?' Mrs Adams turns her attention to him.

'No we have not.' Alex admits.

'Jay have you ever felt the burning on your wrist?' Mrs Adams questions Jay.

'No I have not.' He replies.

'Right after everything I've heard and seen I've decided that I'm taking Ava out of the dance show and boys you keep them apart.' Mrs Adams announces.

'You can't do that!' Ava exclaims.

'It's already done.' Mrs Adams retorts. She continues to lecture us about our behaviour and how she suspects better.

We trail out of her office to get back to rehearsals. I put all my energy into the dance to prove that I deserve the lead role.

A/N: I apologise for chapter 18 and 19, I feel they are not my best and will definitely edit them once the story is finished, I'm struggling slightly to figure out where to go from here. Any thoughts are welcome. Many thanks.
