Before 1257 AD, the humans and magical beings lived in peace all around the world. There were Unicorns, flying dogs, Dragons, Witches, Demons, Fairies, Vampires, Serpents, Elves, and Angels. There were also Leviathan, Dwarfs, Trolls, Centaurs, and more. The non-magical, or humans, could recognize most of these names from fairy tale myths or movies. Any true believer of their existence would be considered a fool in the human world. But, they would be right.

On Earth, there is a portal to a different realm called Luce. In 1257, Prince Raug separated the magical entities and the non-powerful beings after a human girl, who he later killed, shattered his heart in two pieces. The part of Raug's heart that was still in his chest was pure although it had some darkness in it. The half of his heart that had left his body was black, filled with rage and evil. Raug hid that part of his heart deep in his castle.

At the time, Raug was just a powerful elf, a prince whose parents had been tragically killed. When he cast the spell to separate the humans and magical beings, he left a trace that magic had existed in journals of dead men and women and in cave drawings because the pure part of his heart made him hope the two world could be one again.

Raug managed to give the humans a detailed past of war and horror. He knew that humans were intelligent and would look deeply into the journals of the dead and cave drawing from ancient times. This is why his plan worked so well.

Every so often, a new person would walk up to the magical portal and notice how it "has something different about it" or "gives off a strange vibe." That night, Raug would visit the person in their sleep and reveal the truth to them.

The portal is hidden within the trees of an urban park. To the tourist's eye, the tree that separates the two realms looks just like the tree beside it. But the people who've heard of the myth of a realm that exists within the park notice something. Each person who has investigated the myth finds the portal tree. They notice the tree beside it too. Everything that happens to the tree beside, happens to the portal tree too – even the simplest leaf falling from a branch. Once a person figures it out, they die of a heart attack in their sleep.

Raug was aware of what would happen when he reveled the truth to the humans. He knew the human world wasn't ready to know the truth and they wouldn't be for millenniums to come.

Along with the other elves, Raug separated himself from other magical creatures. Virtually all alone in his castle, he learned centuries later that his creatures were leaving through the portal to the human world to experience a life on the other side.

In 1887, a vampire named Martinetto left Luce and traveled around America. A year later, he got bored of the country and set out for London. In London, he killed and drank the blood of numerous women. To cover up the horrific murders, investigators spoke of a murderer who gutted the woman instead of sucking their blood. A vampire hunter in Birmingham tracked down Martinetto and cut off his head. This action doesn't kill a vampire. The vampire hunter knew that so he separated Martinetto's head and body in metal cages. After 24 hours, Martinetto's body started rotting at an extreme pace. His body and head turned to ash and he was never heard of again.

When Raug found out what had happened, he was outraged. Since he had created the land in his realm, he was bound inside as a consequence. He tried closing the portal but it had become its own being and would not shut. In desperation, he put up a sign beside the portal warning the people to never act anything but human in the human world or else they would face an untimely death. And he would stand by the portal for months, preaching of what could happen if a creature went through.

For a century, no person dared go through the portal. After that 100 years of creatures training to turn into a human person, they finally gained the courage to pass through to the other realm.

When the creatures that had gone through had children, they had no way of openly teaching their kids to use their powers or become the creature they really were. Since the children were conceived while their parents were in human form, they were born in human form and had to practice much more in order to show their true form. Until after the age of 17, the children could not control whether or not they turned into their true self without the proper practice. When a child turned into their true form in public, the government got a hold on them, which caused many deaths and scientific experiments.

In fear of his people, Raug set up a school, Luce Academy, where magical creatures from the ages of 2 through 20 could learn to control transforming. They'd also learn how to master their powers and abilities. Stationed all around the world were guards who watched over children and families native to Luce in case any were to transform or use magic. They would immediately be sent to Luce Academy, their families would be sent back to Luce, and any human they interacted with would forget the person ever existed.

The Realm of Luce, where there is peace.

Where there is immortality.

Where there is no racism, sexism, or classism.

A place humans desperately wish existed.
