This Is Just the Beginning

I couldn't get the thought of whatever the darkness was out of my head. Are the Navi some form of light warriors battling the darkness? What is the darkness capable of? When I asked Nick about it, his face drained of colour just as the Seraphim's face had. He completely avoided the topic. I was far too scared to ask anyone else about it.

When the bell sounded for dinner, I rushed down the corridors to the dining hall and watched the endless cafeteria fill up with people. Most of the people caught and grew their own food it seemed. The kitchen workers made food from the human world so we never felt too far from home. Or at least that's what Amelia told me. It was sweet that they did that at the academy.

I instantly spotted Blake with his crew of people in their dark suits. Most people avoided eye contact with them.

A month has passed and I've quickly adapted to Luce Academy. The classes are pretty rough and I've been losing a lot of sleep to practice and try to keep up, but I've been making it by by the skin of my teeth.

"What a pleasure it is seeing you here." Nick stood beside me as I stood outside watching people use magic while eating my lunch. Pizza today. He food in his hands but he didn't move.

"Hey." I smiled. "What's up?" Nick had been helping me after class on Monday's and Wednesday's to keep up.

"Nothing special unless you'd like to walk around. If so, then I'm just waiting for an excelling friend to walk with me." He gave me a goofy smile.

"I'd love to. What's on your plate?"

Nick looked down at his food. "Nothing you'd like." He looked up at me and smiled. He was very charming and nice. He said as we threw out our plates and left the dining hall. Just then, Nick's phone buzzed. "Let's raincheck?" I nodded.

As I started walking, I saw Blake leaning against a wall, tossing a ball of fire in the air. I tried to think of a way to avoid him but nothing came to my mind. Hopefully, he wouldn't stop me.

As I slowly walked closer to Blake, the ball of fire he had been tossing in the air disappeared in his hand. He got off of the wall and looked at me with the smirk on his face. Neither of us said anything to each other but I could hear him humming behind me as I walked to Amelia's and my room.

"So, this is your room?" Blake poked his head inside after I unlocked the door.

"Yes." I stepped inside.

Blake pushed past me and looked around. He sat on my bed and looked around.

"Get out of my room!" I yelled, pointing towards the door.

Blake rolled his eyes and sat up. "You are so lame." He walked towards the door. "I hope to see you soon, young Fairy."

I sat on my bed where Blake had just lain. The sun was already beginning to set. I felt exhausted from my combat class, so I didn't bother getting changed.

As I was thinking, I felt something fly on my arm. Without looking, I swatted it away. When it came back, I was able to feel a small amount of heat radiating off it. I turned and looked at the creature on my arm. It was a Navi and I was almost positive it was the same Navi as yesterday.

A weird feeling crept over me but tiredness overpowered it and I fell asleep.

"Don't worry if you haven't found the weapon of your dreams, Belle." Amelia tried to cheer me up. "Your teacher said you did great with the staff, right? I'm sure that'll be your best pick!"

I rolled my eyes. "I couldn't even get it to work!"

Amelia frowned. "I'd love to help you some more but I'm going out with David soon. He's taking me off campus!" She cheered. "Anyways, love you!" She put her shoes and stood by the door.
